The GoodGuests that stayed at the Hotel Indigo had mixed feelings about the property. On the plus side several guests liked the hotel's location, the staff, and the guest rooms.
Guests that liked the location of the hotel were typically airport travelers. On several occasions these guests indicated that the property's close proximity to the YYZ airport made the hotel an attractive choice. Related to that, there were many guests who appreciated that the hotel offered a free airport shuttle.
The staff at the hotel received the occasional complaint but for the most part patrons were quite happy with the customer service that they received. The staff were often described as "friendly," "polite," or "helpful" with only the occasional guest offering a contrasting opinion.
The guest rooms had several features that impressed the hotel's patrons. Many guests thought that the rooms were nicely decorated and some guests specifically indicated that they liked having hardwood floors.
Despite the hotel's close proximity to the Toronto International Airport several guests were surprised at how quiet the rooms were. One guest advised not to "worry about the jets flying overhead" because he and his party "never (heard) them" despite being on the top floor of the hotel.
The Bad
There were a fair number of guests that were at least partly dissatisfied with this hotel. The inconvenient elevators and the hotel's parking fee each provoked a lot of guest complaints.
Guests that were unhappy with the elevators were all guests that stayed on the hotel's top floor (the 5th floor). Time and time again these guests mentioned that they were slowed down because they had to change elevators in order to get to and from their rooms. The process of getting to the 5th floor involved taking one elevator to the 4th floor and then switching to another elevator to get to the last floor. While the switch may seem trifling to some, enough guests complained about it to suggest that the inconvenience was significant.
Some guests mentioned that they were unhappy about paying for parking at the hotel. These guests often described a $10 fee that was either a negative surprise or seemed expensive.
