Overview
The Hyatt Regency Toronto is located on the north side of King Street West between Peter Street and Widmer Street in Toronto, Ontario.

Facilities at the property include a business centre, an elevator, self parking ($29/night), valet parking ($35/night), and eighteen meeting rooms. There are leisure facilities at the hotel as well and those include a restaurant (breakfast extra), an outdoor swimming pool, and a fitness room on the 17th floor.

There are 394 guest rooms, including 32 suites, at the twenty-story property. Room amenities include air conditioning, desks, plasma televisions, coffee makers, hair dryers, in-room safes, and ironing equipment. Rooms are typically non-smoking however a Reservations Agent we spoke to about the hotel said that the property had "five to seven" smoking rooms. Internet access is available in-room at a rate of $15 for 24 hours and local calls cost $1 each.

The hotel is about 1.3km away from Union Station while both the Roger's Centre and the CN Tower are about 850m from the hotel (distances - Google Maps). Check in time at this property is at 4pm while check out time is at noon.

Verified with a Reservations Agent: $29 per day for parking, there is a fitness centre at the hotel (some resources said it was off site), and there are a small percentage of rooms for smokers. Also verified both the check in and check out times and the cost of local calls.
The Good
Guests that stayed at the Hyatt Regency Toronto were typically satisfied with their stays and the property received a lot of compliments. Typically guests wrote strong reviews praising the location, the staff, and the guest rooms.

The guests that liked the hotel's location often mentioned the hotel's downtown location. Guests found several amenities near the hotel including restaurants and tourist attractions like the Air Canada Centre. The Eaton's Centre was also occasionally mentioned and many guests said that they found shopping options near the hotel. Some guests also indicated that they were near to the Theatre District.

The staff at the hotel received many compliments and were commonly described as professional. Some guests that had problems during their stays mentioned that the staff were accommodating in fixing those problems and the employees were widely regarded as courteous.

Guests that described their rooms were typically impressed. Several guests said that the beds were comfortable and some guests felt that the lighting in the room made for a "cozy and relaxing atmosphere." Numerous guests described their rooms as clean and several felt that they were new or "modern."

The Bad
Guests that did not like aspects of this hotel typically had problems with the prices that the property charged.

Many guests offered their opinions on their room rates and these patrons frequently hinted at bitterness. One guest, for example, felt that his price was "absolutely ridiculous" and not in a good way. Another guest said that his room "was not even worth half the amount that (he)...payed (sic) for it." One guest described a bill of over $250 per night and felt that he received "poor value" in exchange for that sum.

Other guest complaints about the prices they paid focused on areas besides the room rates. For example some guests were upset over having to pay for in-room Internet. Occasionally a guest also mentioned that parking charges applied as well.

There were some complaints that did not have to do with pricing however they were somewhat sporadic. Multiple guests complained that the bed types they reserved did not match the actual bed types they received after check-in.
Expedia.ca guest ratings averaged to 4.2 points out of 5 and 89% of guests recommended the property.

"Sightseeing & Shopping in Toronto"
"Good location for seeing the sights in Toronto. Pity about the fire alarm going off at 05:10hrs, probably one of the disgruntled staff set it off - otherwise an enjoyable stay."
