"Very Nice."
Brad from Vancouver, BC CA stayed on June 29, 2006

"Cheap for D/T Toronto but it smells of mildew."
Richard from London, GB stayed on June 26, 2006

"It should be cheaper because of it's location and 'tatty' decor. Breakfast included is a muffin and orange juice! The rooms are of a good size but poorly maintained. I saw better places for next time. Toronto is a great city to visit. "I'll be back.""
Florence from Mercer Island, WA US stayed on June 20, 2006

"1. I made the reservation thru an unfamiliar website and noticed that it had changed the date of my reservation. I edited the date but when I booked the room, the software changed the dates back to the erroneous ones. So I had to call and fix the reservation, and the person who answered the phone told me quite snippily that "software doesn't make mistakes" (!) and charged me $25 for the change. Since I have worked in a computer lab for 26 years, I know very well that software can and does make mistakes when poorly written. I travel at least once a month, so I make reservations frequently. There is no doubt in my mind that this website's software DID make a mistake. I am peeved about the $25 charge. 2. The hotel room was clean but there were mold stains in the grout around the shower. The stairs were very clean (nice surprise) but the exercise room was in the basement behind a steel grate that made me feel like I was entering a prison. The treadmill faced a blank wall; there was no TV. Needless to say, I didn't go there again. This is the second WORST exercise facility I have ever encountered in the past 10 years. The worst one had no working equipment at all. 3. The internet connection didn't work in my room. I called the tech support phone# but it was set to fax (hi pitched squeal) and I was billed for the toll-free call. I called the front desk, who kindly let me use the lobby computer free. However when I asked 2 days later to use the lobby computer again, I was told that I would have to pay for it, and that the night manager had done wrong to let me use it before. The day manager did inform me not to use the internet cable (which I had been instructed to do when I checked in), but rather to work at the breakfast table using their wireless connection. That worked fine, but only in the breakfast nook, not in my room on the 2nd floor (room 211). 4. The croissant I tasted at breakfast was so bad I threw it out after the first nibble and I ate elsewhere the rest of the stay. SUMMARY: I don't expect a Howard Johnson's to be a Westin, but after this trip I would say that this hotel is below a Motel 6, which does not advertise what it cannot deliver (like internet access and exercise facility)."
Donna from Sudbury, ON CA stayed on April 08, 2006

"The hotel is in a good, safe location. It is very basic with narrow halls but the rooms are spacious. The only complaint I had was that upon check-in, canadianhotelguide rates were more than competitors. On that basis I would use other sources to book."
Cristina from Orono, ME US stayed on March 05, 2006

"The cost was fairly high for the quality of the room, but the location was great (within walking distance of some excellent restaurants and stores). The room was clean and comfortable and the parking provided by the hotel, though not free, was very convenient."
Anonymous guest from St Catherines, ON CA stayed on September 21, 2005

"The room I was in was a little rough, the wall paper was dirty, the ceiling tiles in the bathroom were peeling and there was a huge repair in the closet which was left as grey plaster. The basics, ie sink, tub ect were clean however the rest of the room needed a good cleaning. The hairdryer kept shuting off after a minute or so. The service was not above and beyond. Arriving late from out of town and not knowing the city, I inquired about a location of a business meeting I was attending in the morning. I had the street address however wanted to know how long it would take me to get there so I could gage what time I needed to leave in the morning. The response was, I would have to find out what the nearest major intersection was before they could help me. I got the same sort of response, basically not wanting to do anymore than necessary, each morning when requesting a cab. Would I stay there again? No."
Randy from Ijmuiden, NL stayed on July 20, 2005

"The staff is helpful and the location is great. I also enjoy the muffins and croissants! I have been staying at this hotel since it was the Venture Inn 10 years ago. Unfortunately the room I had this time (Room 201) did not meet the standards of my previous stays. I will return."

"I was told there is a auto parking lot, but not told there is a daily charge for it's use."
Calvin from Toronto, ON CA stayed on January 11, 2005

"I thought the furniture in the room was dated a little and we could not hook up our portable dvd player to the TV. The bathroom was nice and large. I think the rooms should be updated to provide more technological solutions. ie: laptop and dvd hookups, etc Regards"
Anonymous guest from Dayton, OH US stayed on June 15, 2004

"The hotel room was OK for a one night stay. I would not have wanted to stay more than one night. It looked outdated and old and was very small, not worth what the room rate was. The hotel staff was pleasant though."
Lucien from Chelmsford, ON CA stayed on February 06, 2004

"Stayedthere, many time, on that above specific occasion and earlier. It is always our home away from home. The room size are exectional, as an example on the above occasion, the room was 23ft X 27ft or over 600sft. This included a living area, dining area, sleeping area and complete bathroom, also ample storage. At the price we paid, that was a tremendous bargain. Lucien, Chelmsford, Ontario (Greater Sudbury)"
Anonymous guest from Gloucester, ON CA stayed on November 14, 2003

"The location was ideal for my purpose that day and the rooms are spacious but I am not sure of the cleanliness of the place. I would not recommend it to everyone and would make sure to explain the negative aspects."
Robert from St. Catharines, ON CA stayed on October 23, 2003

"The hotel is in a great location but it needs to be cleaned up --the rooms are tired, the bathrooms out of date and looking like a 70's motel. But location, location and good price for location"
