Overview
Located about a 1-minute drive from the nearest Highway 427 on-ramp and 4-minute drive from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), Hotel Carlingview Toronto Airport is suitable for those travelling by air or car who prefer a well-priced hotel with a free breakfast, a free airport shuttle and easy highway access.

The hotel offers both smoking and non-smoking rooms. Each of the hotel's 112 air-conditioned guest rooms comes equipped with free Wi-Fi, a flat screen cable TV, a coffeemaker, a work desk with ergonomic chair and a hair dryer. An iron and ironing board is available upon request. Rooms with a microwave, a mini-fridge and a sitting area with a sofabed are also available. The hotel does not offer wheelchair-accessible rooms.

Pets are permitted for a one-time fee of $45 per room, per stay. Parking is available a short walk away, is an additional $5, plus tax and long term parking is available. The hotel offers a free 24-hour airport shuttle service. Guests can call the hotel from the airport on arrival from a free courtesy phone.

A free light breakfast (pastries and coffee) is available at the sister property's Bistro next door (Courtyard Marriott) and guests can obtain a breakfast-to-go meal, to take on the flight as early as 3 am.  On site, Mr. Greek restaurant serves lunch and dinner daily and offers room service. Free coffee and tea are available in the lobby. The Arizona B-Bar & Grill next door offers an alternate dining choice and there are a few other choices within a 5-minute walk including The Keg.

On-site amenities include a 24-hour business centre and a meeting room. Free access to the hotel's sister property's indoor pool, hot tub, sauna, fitness centre and laundry facilities is also available to all guests. 

Toronto's city centre is about a 45-minute drive away, while Cloverdale Mall and Woodbine Racetrack are both an 11-minute drive away. Toronto Congress Centre is roughly a 4-minute drive from the hotel. (All travel time estimates: Google Maps)

The Good
The majority of the reviews sourced for this analysis were positive, with praise going to the hotel's rates, airport shuttle, location and rooms.

Many guests praised the hotel's rates, describing them as reasonable, affordable and cost effective. One patron noted, "Our room was very large, clean, and comfortable, on par with much more expensive hotels".

The hotel's airport shuttle service was the source of numerous compliments by reviewers, who found it to be prompt, fast and efficient. One guest remarked, "The shuttle was VERY prompt to and from the airport. This was a huge selling feature on why we stayed here. There was hardly any wait time".

Several travellers were pleased with the hotel's proximity to the airport, while other guests also found the hotel close to restaurants and highway access. One reviewer mentioned, "The very convenient location between downtown Toronto and Mississauga made it very easy for us move at any direction and reach in very reasonable times".

Although several guests were pleased with their clean and spacious rooms, a few lodgers had complaints about their accommodations. They reported dated decor and noise transfer from planes flying overhead and from guests in adjacent rooms.

A few reviewers were disappointed with the hotel's free breakfast. They described it as limited, with no hot or healthy items. 

Some guests found the food and prices at the restaurant on site lacking and expensive.

A few guests had difficulties communicating with the staff regarding the airport shuttle service. Occasionally guests had issues with the off-site parking compound. They complained of it being tight, off site a distance down the road and insecure.
