The Good
The hotel came out with an average rating and this was likely reflective of the overall guest opinion--namely an average or adequate hotel.

The location was the hotel's strongest feature. Guests said they could walk to anything they needed as there was an abundance of stores including groceries (Loblaws) and restaurants nearby. Some liked having a nearby subway station which allowed them to easily access Toronto's attractions. Others used the nearby hop-on, hop-off open top bus tour to get around and sight-see as well.

Guests often enjoyed the breakfast buffet. It was described in reviews as great with lots of variety, hot foods, delicious fresh fruits, cinnamon buns and attentive staff. "Breakfast was good, the 'kids under 12 eat free' is unbeatable so 17$ for my daughter and me was more than reasonable. Breakfast attendants were friendly & cheerful.", wrote one recent guest.

Guests who liked their rooms described them as very clean with comfy beds, a convenient mini-fridge and large flat screen TV with lots of channels. Others said they were quiet and tastefully decorated.

Guests spoke well of the staff. They were described as nice, friendly and efficient.

The Bad
Some guests offered negative feedback online in recent reviews.

Guests often reported small rooms and bathrooms. The room was smaller than expected according to one reviewer and it was also disappointing for the price charged ($175) for another. One guest put it this way, "Admittedly the rooms are incredibly small (and the streetcars quite noisy if you face the front) but it is obvious an effort has been made to update. It was on the pricey side for the room but I guess the location makes it worth it."

A few reviewers thought that the parking prices ($28 per night) were too expensive.

Some guests found the Wi-Fi unreliable and it overall received a decent, but not excellent score.

Other recent complaints found were: tired rooms, uncomfortable bed, pool very dirty and floor slippery, more maintenance needed in the hotel, long waits for elevator (due to maids using it), old machines in a small gym, room cold--couldn't adjust heat as it was turned off by hotel.
