"there was no parking available at the hotel our first night,we had to wake in the morning early as to avoid a parking ticket on the street.
the floor we weer on was extremely loud our last night... screaming, yelling voices and lots of swearing at 4 am in the morning for more than 30 minuites..very frustrating..."

"The Holiday Inn Express Downtown is in an excellent location, it has an attractive 'courtyard' outside the front entrance, the public areas are reasonably presentable, and there is internet access in the lobby (very important for occasional emergencies/laptop problems/old timers like me who still don't have wireless access). Breakfast is included in the price - as much 'continental' breakfast as you can eat - and the staff are very helpful.
The rooms are probably the hotel's least attractive feature. Judging by my room they are quite small (by North American standards) and with rather drab cream/brown carpets and decorations. But you're in Toronto, for God's sake - how much time are you gonna spend in your hotel room??
Would I stay there again? Yes, definitely."

"Too poor "Business Center" facilities. Just possible to watch Internet. Not possible to send documents. Did not even had MS Office. A miserable payment system for the "computer"."

"The room I stayed in didnt have a closet but it did have this enormous cabinet to put clothes in which the TV also sat in as well. I didnt care for it because I was barely able to get around it to get to the bed since the bed was placed right in front. There were also young people partying till all hours of the night. And at one point they knocked on my door for 5 minutes until I finally opened it at 2 am then they proceeded to invite me to their room for some marijuana smoking which I declined. I didnt complain to the desk but I have to say I wasnt pleased about it."

"The hotel itself, and the staff, were very good, the other guests however, were a nightmare. The second night of our stay a large group of young people registered at the hotel and spent the night partying in the hallways, runningg up and down the stairwells and talking loudly in the halls. I got very little sleep. The staff tried to contain the rowdy guests, but were outnumbered. I only wish the rowdies had tried to sleep in so I could have let my 5 year old run the hall at 7 a.m. to disturb their sleep - unfortunately, they arose at 6:40 a.m. and continued to make loud noises in the hallway. sigh."

"I was supposed to have a non-smoking room. The first room reaked of smoke, and the second still smelled of smoke but was not too bad.
I would recommend it as being reasonable value, but I would also look elsewhere are this price level to see what the options are.

"Breakfast was included, but, set-up for breakfast was awful. Room much too small, queues much too long.Supplies were replenished very smartly, but, everything except trays was disposable, which is very enviornmentally unfriendly and as Europeans we were appalled at the 'disposable and plastic society'we encountered everywhere we went in Canada!)There were no maps of the city either in the foyer or in the room and no copy of 'Where in Toronto' available.Lack of a map puts one at great disadvantage when one arrives-especially as it was our first time in the city.A big black mark.Parking very expensive for hotel guests."

"The hotel building is old and needs a very acute update. The carpets feel sticky they are so dirty and the whole place sticks of old sweat aka people. I was thoroughly disappointed and thought is was a great big chunck of money for such a dark and dingy place. If I was planning to stay in Toronto longer than 1 day I would have gone and found myself a different hotel."

"The hotel was very good but I must say the service was very poor and I will not recommed for this hotel. The staff are very unpoliate and the house keep ladys (2 of them come to clean) were very indesent and they are very loud while they are working in my room. Frond desk staff are not at all help full. We had few laugage but they did not allow us use the storage area. However, the breakfast was good.
I am totaly unhappy about my stay in Holiday Inn Express at 111 Lambord street, downtown."

"The bath was dirty when we came (excuse my englis i am a french man), we found under the bed at the end of the four days we past there an empty bottle of water and some pink pop-corn (we dont eat pink pop-corn). When we call you, it was impossible for me to have an service in french and this htel change name since a lot of days, he is now an Holiday Inn express and you call it again Quality Htel Downtown. It's not fun to find an htel when you dont have the good name."

"The room was very musty smelling. We had to open the unscreened window every time we came in, and close it when we went out because of the lack of screens. The rug needed a good cleaning, or to be replaced. The bed and bathroom was clean, so all was not lost! The continental breakfast was excellent and available in a lovely, bright room. The attendant with the maps in the lobby was excellent and very informative. Thankyou."

"Overall good value, Breakfast room could benefit from being a little roomier and also offer a variety of cold meats as well as the usual bagels and toast.
The only irritant during my stay was to have to request more teabags milk and coffee each day - why don't they put out enough without
being asked all the time, perhaps based on the first days consumption!
On the same subject why doesn't any Canadian Hotel provide complimentary sachets of drinking chocolate with the room tray?"

"Room carpet was dirty, and did not trust to walk barefoot. Small bath towels (not sure why). Bed mattres was sagged. Noise level was pretty high (3rd floor). Room heater was loud even at low settings, the unit has reached its lifetime and needs to be replaced. Information personnel was good and friendly. Front desk person (when checked-in after midnight) needs training on customer service and politness. Breakfast area is small and crowded, breakfast was not appealing due to setup (I would expect this if I was in Japan, but not in USA)"

"Staff, although efficient, showed little enthusiasm. The manager was very nice, and the concierge, when he was on duty, was helpful. The rooms were neat, but there was no control over air circulation. The request for a wake up call was efficiently accepted, as well as the request for additional towels. All in all, not a bad experience, but just not an exhilerating one."
