Facilities at the hotel include parking ($19 per day), a business centre, laundry facilities, an indoor swimming pool, a rooftop hot tub, a steam room, and a sauna. There is also an on-site restaurant and the hotel serves a complimentary buffet breakfast.
Some online sources claim that the hotel offers a free airport shuttle however this amenity should be clarified.
After speaking to a Front Desk Agent at the hotel we learned that there is no free service to the YYZ airport. However the hotel does offer free shuttling to destinations in Toronto's Financial District and that could include service to the ferry ports that service both the Toronto Islands and the Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. Service to the Pearson Airport would cost about $20 and the pickup/dropoff point for that shuttle is about a "five minute walk" from the Grand Hotel.
The 18-story property features 177 guest suites in a range of categories. Common amenities include cable television, ironing equipment, safes, and climate control. Rooms also include free Internet access, free local calls, and kitchenette facilities.
Dundas Station (public transit) is about 600m away from the hotel, Union Station (VIA Rail/GO Station/TTC) is about 1.7km away, and the CN Tower is about 2.4km away (distances - Google Maps).
Check in time is at 3pm while check out time is at noon.

The GoodGuests that stayed at this hotel were typically quite impressed with the property. In particular the hotel's facilities, the staff, and the guest suites were well reviewed by numerous patrons.
Guests that liked the hotel's facilities often had praise for the roof top hot tub. Many guests liked that they offered what one guest called "an excellent view of downtown." Some guests also liked the hotel's pool and the two amenities were called "relaxing" or "amazing" by multiple guests.
The staff at the hotel were generally well-liked. They were often described as "friendly" and/or "helpful" and one guest, for example, said that the staff were "incredible."
The suites at the hotel had some features that impressed many guests. Some patrons liked that the suites had hardwood floors as opposed to carpets. Many others liked that their rooms had kitchenettes with fridges and microwaves. Some guests also thought that the rooms were spacious.
The Bad
Guests that did not totally like this hotel were in the minority. However there were a few areas where concerns were concentrated.
Some guests felt as though the hotel was in a rougher or more downtrodden part of downtown. One guest called the neighbourhood "poor" while another guest said that the "neighboring area behind the hotel was not so great."
Occasionally guests indicated that they did not like the parking at the hotel. This was typically due to the cost of the service which some felt was too expensive.
The breakfast did not receive the best reviews. Occasionally a guest mentioned that he/she thought there was limited selection or he/she indicated that his/her expectations were not met.
