Overview
The Glengrove Suites are located on the east side of Yonge Street and to the north of Glengrove Avenue in Toronto, Ontario.

Facilities at the five-story hotel include parking ($10 per day), a business centre, laundry facilities, and a fitness room which includes treadmill, bicycle, sauna and weights. The property has 63 guest rooms and they feature fully equipped kitchens. Other amenities at the hotel include 27" flatscreen televisions, air conditioning, and high speed Internet access ($10 per night). Local calls are charged at a rate of $0.50 per call.

The hotel accepts nightly reservations however the property also appeals to guests who need long stays in Toronto. There are limitations on housekeeping service as a Front Desk Agent we spoke to said that it was only provided once per week.

The hotel is located north of downtown Toronto and the St. Lawrence subway station is about 750m from the property. The Downsview Airport is about 12.8km away while the CN Tower is about 9.4km away (distances - Google Maps).

Check in time at this property is at 4pm while check out time is at 11am.

The Good
Guests that stayed at the Glengrove Suites hotel had very mixed opinions about the property. The hotel's main strengths appeared to be its room rates, location, and room amenities.

Guests that were happy with the rates they paid were quite common. Numerous guests felt that the hotel helped them "stay within the budget" while still offering respectable accommodations. One guest, for example, said that the price was "really good" and several others made similar statements. 

Another guest who seemed somewhat disappointed with the hotel felt as though the price redeemed some weak points: "The suites (were) very old and could (have done) with refurbishment. In fairness they were very reasonably priced for city accommadation (sic)."

Guests that liked the location of the hotel had one major reason and that was the property's close proximity to a public transit subway station (Lawrence Station). One guest said the close proximity was "walking distance" and another guest felt that being so close to the Yonge Street line made for "easy" access to downtown.

Guests that liked their room amenities also had one major reason. The hotel offered kitchen facilities and several guests felt as though they were "handy" to have or that they were "useful." Multiple guests also felt as though their rooms were spacious.

The Bad
Many guests had concerns over some features of this hotel. The condition of the building and the limited housekeeping service were two areas that received several complaints.

Guests that were disappointed with the condition of the hotel felt as though the property was old. Many guests called the hotel "tired" or "dated" and some guests recommended renovations. Dirtiness appeared to be a problem at the hotel, a complaint that was mixed in with the condition of the property. According to one guest: "It took awhile and a good look around to convince me that the place was clean. In the end, I decided that they did the best they could with a worn out room."

Some of the guests who stayed at the hotel were long termed guests. They often indicated that they did not like that there were limitations pertaining to housekeeping service. One guest indicated that "maid service" was "only weekly" while another guest who claimed to have "stayed for more than 2 weeks" noticed that the housekeeping department "cleaned the room only once.”

The staff received somewhat mixed reviews and occasionally a guest thought that a staff member was rude or provided bad customer service.
