This hotel is located just off Hwy 401 and offers a budget stay in the Toronto North York district, a 30-minute drive from downtown Toronto.

The hotel has 290 smoke-free and pet-free rooms on 10 floors with elevator access.

All rooms include free Wi-Fi, free local calls, a flat screen TV with cable, a coffeemaker, a desk, a safe, an iron and ironing board, a hair dryer, and climate control.

Some rooms include a sofabed, a mini-fridge and a microwave. Accessible rooms are available.

Rooms are furnished with 2 queen beds or 1 king bed.

Free parking is available on site.

Restaurant on site: Edward Restaurant is open for breakfast from 6:30 am to 11 am, and dinner from 5:30 pm to 11 pm daily.

Other restaurants in the immediate area include Tim Hortons and Subway Sandwiches, a 7-minute walk, Lara’s a 5-minute walk and Willie Stouts pub, a 9-minute walk.

Hotel amenities include an indoor pool (open from 9 am to 9 pm), a sauna, a fitness room, a business centre, dry cleaning, a guest laundry, a library, a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, an ATM, a picnic area, safety deposit boxes, vending machines, and meeting rooms.

The Good
Overall, guests had mixed opinions of the hotel.

Rooms that were renovated (on the 3rd floor) were pleasing. Guests described them as clean, quiet and spacious with comfy beds. South-facing rooms on the higher floors had nice views of the downtown.

The location was well liked. It offered easy access to the highway and guests could access public transit, shopping and restaurants on foot.

Breakfast was appreciated by some guests. They said it was decent and offered good variety and freshly baked items.

Guests typically found the hotel affordable.

Guests also liked: Tim Hortons and Willie Stout’s Pub nearby and free parking on site.

The Bad
Guests were often disappointed in the hotel’s rooms, service and facilities.

Recent room complaints were: coffee packets did not fit the coffee pot, musty smell, dirty coffee machine, shower had no door, stained towels, stained chair, mouldy shower, bathroom door did not close, poor water pressure, no hot water, no microwave in the room, room was poorly cleaned, 2 sets of towels for 3 persons, small towels, room seemed old and in need of maintenance, room smelled like smoke from other guests, did not get the room booked, updates to furniture needed, dated bathroom, bathroom counter was falling away from the wall, room was stuffy, carpet needs cleaning, AC did not work, uncomfortable pillows, heater stopped working and no hair dryer in the room.

Guests had mixed views of the staff. Some described them as helpful and accommodating and some found them dismissive, unwelcoming and rude.

Some guests complained of poor Wi-Fi.

Noise affected guests on occasion. They blamed the heaters, air conditioners, their neighbours and the highway.

Other comments found were: no ice machine, limited restaurant services, hallway carpet well worn and dirty, no service at bar and pool was out of order with no notice given to pre-warn guests.
