The GoodGuests that stayed at the Days Inn Toronto Lakeview hotel had mixed feelings about the property. Compliments for the hotel generally focused on the affordable room rates while some guests also liked the location of the property and the breakfast.
Several guests implied that they received fair to good value for what they paid at this hotel. For example, one guest said that the property was "good for the price," another guest said the hotel "exceeded expectations especially for the price," and another guest said the property offered "good value."
Multiple guests also seemed appreciative of the fact that the hotel offered both free breakfast and free Internet.
In regard to location, guests had mixed opinions. Some of the guests who liked where the property was situated mentioned that they liked being near to the Scarborough Bluffs.
Guests also had mixed reviews about the breakfast and those that liked it often mentioned that it included waffles.
The Bad
Guests that did not enjoy their stay at this hotel were quite numerous and they mentioned a spectrum of concerns.
One of the leading concerns had to do with the fact that the hotel was not very central to Toronto and some guests seemed to feel as though they were misled by the sources they consulted. Time and time again patrons indicated that the hotel "was too far outside of Toronto," that it was "no where near downtown," or that getting between downtown Toronto and the hotel required a long ride or expensive cab fare.
Several guests felt as if the hotel was old or dirty. One guest indicated that his room "had a serious bedbug problem" and another adamant guest indicated that he/she was "VERY dissatisfied with the cleanliness of (his/her) rooms." Many guests described deterioration at the hotel and examples included "wall paper peeling off walls," "cracks" in tiles, and "stained" carpets.
Numerous guests also noticed an unwanted smell at the hotel. Often this smell was identified as the smell of cigarette smoke whether in rooms, in corridors, or in the halls.
The staff at the hotel were not consistently described as friendly or helpful. They were often depicted as being unresponsive to problems and one frustrated guest, for example, said the "staff (were) as cold and unfriendly as it (got)."
