"The hotel was fine but my complaint has to do with my experience with Hotels-X.
First, I tried booking 3 rooms for a group of us, but I was not allowed to book three at once. I got around this problem by booking three times under my name and then my wife's name and using different credit cards. However, even though the three booking were all done within seconds of each other the 2nd and 3rd rooms were at a substially higher rate than the first room. I was not pleased with this but, I did not have time to deal with it and just booked the rooms. You have to understand that this is a sour point with me and I would have to be desparate to ever run to Hotel-X to look for a hotel. My displeasure was compounded when I got to the hotel with the 3 confirmation numbers sent to me, the hotel could only find the confirmation numbers for the 2nd and 3rd rooms (the two rooms at the higher rate). The hotel staff was kind enough to provide me with a computer to use to print out the confirmation email that I had received from you, but that did not help they still could not find the reservation. They then let me use their phone to call your customer service. After aprox. 10-15 minute wait I was able to finally explain my problem. Customer service immediately faxed my reservation to the hotel and I was given a room. My question remains, why would all three rooms not receive the same rate? It may be buried in some fine print, but I did not see anywhere anything about certain rates only being available to one room and that only one room can be booked at the same time.
In summary: thumbs up to the Crowne Plaza - Don Valey experience and thumbs down to the Hotels-x experience.
