The Good
Guests found a comfortable and pleasant stay at this older but clean and well-priced hotel.

Guests found the location convenient. It was close to the subway which allowed guests to get around Toronto easily. It was surrounded by cheap and cheerful eateries with great ethnic food, and in walking distance of Eaton Centre for shopping and dining.

Guests enjoyed the newly renovated and clean rooms. They were described as stylish, spacious and modern with comfortable beds and some with nice views of the city.

The staff were well liked. Guests said they worked hard to help, were professional and attentive. Guests told of how staff advised of marathons that could affect their travel and delay their arrival to the airport. They also assisted a guest in retrieving a cell phone lost in a cab (using the hotel's video).

Several guests enjoyed breakfasts on site, but some complained of line ups in the morning and having to order at the counter, although the food was brought to the table.

The Bad
There were several areas of weakness brought out in the reviews.

Guests often complained of very long waits for the elevator. Some said the elevators were old, small and did not work properly.

Noise was a problem for some. Guests said they could hear their neighbours, and noise from elevators, AC units, construction and traffic in rooms facing Yonge St.

Some guests in the summer found overly warm rooms. These guests complained that the AC units did not work well.

The bathrooms did not offer the expected convenience. Some guests had to run the hot water tap for long periods of time in order to obtain heated water. Some said their bathroom doors did not close fully nor insulate sound and there were no extractor fans. Some complained of poorly configured bathrooms with the sink placed several steps outside the bathroom.

Some guests found the valet parking expensive, but guests found cheaper parking in the area. One guest mentioned a parking garage across the street for $18 and another said there was a surface lot on the corner that only charged $4 overnight from 6 pm till the morning at 9 am.

Some guests missed having a free breakfast included with the stay and some judged the dining on site as mediocre and expensive, although more guests liked the food at the Bistro.

The pool was small and a little dated according to some reviewers.
