Located about a 10-minute drive from Toronto's city centre at Dupont Subway Station, the Castlegate Bed and Breakfast Inn is geared towards business or vacation travellers looking for short or long-term accommodations at a centrally-located hotel with extended kitchen amenities and easy access to public transit.

This hotel has 40 air-conditioned guest rooms and apartments, each offering free Wi-Fi, cable TV, a mini-fridge, a microwave and a hair dryer. Some rooms have a hot plate. Rooms with one single, one double or one queen bed with a sofabed are offered, and additional amenities such as a fireplace, a kitchenette and an iron and ironing board are also available in some rooms. 

The hotel also offers a business centre, free parking and a free continental breakfast. Pets are not permitted, and the hotel is not wheelchair accessible.

Magic Oven Pizza is a 1-minute walk north, while The Eaton Centre offers shopping about 15 minutes away via public transit. Union Station is an 11-minute subway ride away. The Royal Ontario Museum is roughly a 20-minute walk southeast of the hotel, and The University of Toronto can be found 6 minutes away by car. The Good
The majority of the reviews sourced for this analysis were positive, and several aspects of the property were complimented frequently.

Many guests praised the hotel's location, and found it to be downtown, as well as close to the subway, many restaurants and shopping. One lodger commented that the hotel is near schools and plenty of affordable places to eat.

The hotel's rooms were the source of numerous compliments by reviewers, who described them as well equipped, spacious, clean and comfortable. It should be noted however, that a few guests had complaints about their rooms (see below).

Several lodgers were pleased with the level of customer service offered by the hotel, and characterized the hotel as friendly and helpful. A few guests had negative comments about the staff, however (see below).
The Bad
While the majority of reviews consulted for this analysis were positive, there were some common complaints about the breakfast, rooms and staff.

The free breakfast was disappointing to some lodgers. They reported very little variety and felt the food was of poor quality and unappetizing. 

Although several guests were satisfied with their accommodations, a few reviewers complained about their rooms. They reported stained carpets, small bathrooms and intermittent Wi-Fi signals.

While the majority of reviewers praised the hotel's staff and service, some guests had complaints. They found the staff (mainly the manager) to be arrogant, rude and unfriendly.
