The GoodGuests that stayed at the Best Western Plus Roehampton were typically impressed with the property. The hotel's main strengths appeared to be the location, the guest rooms, and the hotel staff.
The location of the hotel was well-liked for a few common reasons. Several guests liked that the property was situated near Yonge Street, a major commercial street in Toronto with plenty of shops and restaurants. Some guests mentioned that there was a subway station near the hotel or at least nearby transit options.
In regard to proximity to downtown, there was some balance of opinion. Some guests felt it was a little far but others appreciated the distance as one guest, for example, said the hotel "was close to downtown Toronto without all the noise."
The guest rooms were praised for several reasons. First and foremost, the property appeared to have a good reputation for cleanliness as many guests indicated that their rooms were up to standard. Some guests also thought that the "rooms were spacious" or large and the beds received a lot of compliments for being comfortable. Many guests also appreciated that in-room Internet service was free.
The staff at the hotel received several compliments with virtually no off-setting complaints. The staff were commonly depicted as pleasant or they were described as "friendly" and/or "helpful."
The Bad
Guests that did not entirely enjoy their stay did not seem too frustrated with the property. However there were a few areas that commonly generated complaints from patrons.
Firstly, many guests did not like the parking service at the hotel. The main reason for the dislike had to do with the extra charge and the fact that valet service was mandatory (no option for self parking).
Some guests were unhappy with the restaurant but not because of poor food quality. Many guests who wanted food service found the facility to be closed at a time when they thought that service should have been available. One guest, for example, said that the restaurant should have been "open for Friday and Saturday night dinners" and other guests bumped into the same problem.
Guests usually liked their rooms but some guests complained that the bathroom was small. One guest indicated that her husband barely fit into the room while another guest said that it "was unbelievably small."
