Thunder Bay has some very good hotels and some poorly rated ones. I picked from among the highest rated hotels in the city while considering how competitive their rates were, the quality of their rooms and amenities and the experiences of their guests. Last of all I considered their location for its convenience. My picks are the two hotels I consider to offer the best overall value to guests in Thunder Bay.

Modern rooms, data ports, mini-fridges, restaurant & bar, 45' indoor pool, hot tub
The Best Western Nor’Wester Hotel & Conference Centre is my pick for great value for airport travellers, especially or guests wanting to be away from the downtown hive of activity in Thunder Bay. This hotel is a great facility with very inviting and well-designed spaces. It also has an abundance of amenities for an amazing room price. It’s a 15-minute drive to downtown Thunder Bay and about 9 minutes from the airport. Guest rooms are modern and beautifully arranged with flat screen TVs, data ports, DVD players and mini-fridges in all rooms. Some rooms have microwaves, living areas, spa showers, jetted tubs and fireplaces. Guests can enjoy the leisure amenities on site including a 45’ indoor pool, hot tub, sauna and private steam rooms. There is a large fitness facility and business centre for guests on site. The Cliffhanger Restaurant & Bar is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. For added value, the hotel supplies complimentary Wi-Fi, parking and airport shuttle. And perhaps best of all, this beautiful area in the Nor'wester mountains offers outdoor enjoyment with golfing and skiing nearby.
