The Clarion Hotel (formerly Days Inn Sudbury) offers budget room rates, an indoor pool and a popular on-site restaurant, located in walking distance of many downtown Sudbury attractions. The Good
Most guests enjoyed their stays at this hotel, judging from online reviews read recently for this editorial.

Guests typically liked the cleanliness and comfort of their rooms. Several guests enjoyed the beds and some used words like 'amazingly comfortable' and 'fabulous' to describe them. Rooms were pretty standard with guests saying they were clean and usually quiet (although a few had complaints to make in this regard).

Parking was convenient and plentiful, and the location was appreciated for being close to downtown, near to shops and restaurants, minutes away from the arena and close to the highway. Guests mentioned the Ramsey Lake Boardwalk and cruise on the weekend, the Big Nickel/ Dynamic Earth underground mine tour, and Science North all being nearby.

The on-site restaurant got people excited. They said it was terrific, had great food and a good selection of beer. Breakfast offered at the hotel and room service was also praised by the guests.

Staff were mentioned quite often in the reviews and many guests had something nice to say. They were called proficient, knowledgeable, accommodating, polite and helpful.

Guests who spoke of value said the hotel offered very good value and was worth the price.
The Bad
There was not too much to gripe about it seems over in Sudbury at this hotel. Although one guest called the building dated, it seems that Clarion is renovating, so there is a lot to look forward to and some of the problems guests encountered may likely be addressed by the new management.

Occasionally a guest was bothered by the nearby trains that passed by, creating a noise disturbance, and there was the odd complaint over noisy heaters in the rooms.

A very small number of guests found the beds too soft, although a much larger group by comparison found them very comfortable.

The occasional comment surfaced about the area being "not a nice part of town", however many comments highlighted the opposite sentiment with guests finding it very convenient to many destinations.

A few guests complained about the pool being too cold, having no shallow end, and not enough anti-slip protection.
