Overview
Located just off Highway 17 and about a 6-minute drive from Cambrian College, the Ambassador Hotel Sudbury is popular with business and vacation travellers who require a hotel near highway access.

This hotel has 45 air-conditioned guest rooms and suites, each offering free Wi-Fi, cable TV, a coffeemaker and a hair dryer. Some rooms also have a desk and a sitting area. Standard rooms offer one king or two double beds.

Various suites are also available and are furnished with upgraded amenities (such as a deluxe showerhead, larger lounge chair, pillow-top mattress or marble floors) and either a queen bed, a four-poster king bed or a four-poster antique queen bed. Some suites have a double jetted tub and a stereo, and some also have a fireplace. 

All guests can request a mini-fridge. Smoking rooms are available and some rooms feature drive-up access.

Hotel amenities include an indoor pool, fitness facilities, meeting/banquet space, a business centre, a free continental breakfast, vending machines and free parking. Pets are permitted for an additional $25 per pet per night, and the hotel is not wheelchair accessible.

On-site dining is offered at Laura Fratelli's, which serves dinner Monday through Saturday. The restaurant is licensed and room service is available. Ten Lounge and Nightclub is also on site and features drinks, dancing, billiards and a patio. It has a DJ as well as frequent special events.

New Sudbury Shopping Centre is a 5-minute drive northward, while Science North Imax Centre is roughly a 10-minute drive southwest of the hotel. Numerous guests were pleased with the hotel's location. They found it to be close to restaurants, shopping, Cambrian College, Dynamic Earth, Science North, Costo, Sudbury's downtown and Sudbury airport.

The hotel's staff were the source of many compliments by lodgers. They were characterized as efficient, accommodating and helpful with directions.

Several reviewers were satisfied with the hotel's accommodations, and described their rooms as clean, with comfortable beds and linens. It should be noted however, that some guests were disappointed with their rooms (see below).
