The Good
Positive guest reviews for this hotel typically mentioned the water park, the clean rooms, the location, and the friendly staff.

Many guests traveling with children found the water park feature of this hotel convenient and mentioned that their kids had fun using the waterslide and wave pool. A few other guests also found the hot tub relaxing.

Most guests said their rooms were clean and did not have any issues with housekeeping. A number of guests mentioned that they received excellent service and found staff to be both "friendly" and "helpful," and generally attentive to their needs.

Some guests mentioned the location of the hotel was convenient as it was close to downtown (within 8km of the downtown city centre).
The Bad
Guest complaints for this hotel tended to focus on the poor mattress quality, the dated room decor, the noise levels, and the on-site restaurant.

Many guests mentioned that their beds were uncomfortable and badly worn which prevented them from getting a good night's rest. However, in the reviews that were read it appeared that the hotel was in the process of ordering new mattresses and replacing the old ones. Room decor was also an issue with a number of guests who said that the hotel needed to refurbish the room interiors as well as replace the old tube television sets.

Several guests complained of high noise levels beyond a reasonable hour and mentioned that they could not sleep well because of noise disturbances in the hallways. A few guests recommended to stay in rooms situated away from the water park to ensure a quieter room.

The on-site restaurant was a disappointment for many guests who found it overpriced and with poor food quality. A few other guest reviews mentioned that the restaurant looked unclean and in need of remodeling.

Peripheral complaints were that the hours of operation of the water park did not reflect those on the hotel's website. This caused confusion for a few guests who had to rearrange their plans. Some guests also found the temperature of the swimming pool too cold.

"Not a Great Stay At The Travelodge. Will Not Likely Return."

"The pool was understaffed and as a result the slide was not open. The wave pool was very cold as was the ambient temperature of the pool area. The small children were extremely cold and could only swim for a very short time. The parking was terrible, there were not enough spots available for the number of guests. We were forced to park on the road in a tow-away zone. We found the staff to be less than helpful and rude."

"I think there should be a continental breakfast or a voucher of some sort offered with the room as well."

"Enjoyed our stay - restaurant service needs serious overhall"

"Enjoyed our stay. We enjoyed the wave pool. We did not enjoy the breakfast service - it was non existant - the three of us were put at a table meant for two people and others with two patrons sat at a table for four. The service was non existent - ever asked if we wanted a coffee, etc. I cannot believe they charge for this kind of service. The worst I have ever experienced and I used to travel a lot as a consultant. Althought we recommend the hotel, we do stress to folks to eat elsewhere."

"The pool was great fun but my kids found the temperature of the water quite cold. Once in its okay. As well, we had difficulty getting any pool towels. They disappeared very quickly and took nearly two hours to be replaced. On a positive note, the size of the pool did accommodate the large March break crowd. Beds were a tad soft, carpets in the hallways look worn and messy. Overall, however, it was a perfect spot to stay with kids who didn't notice the beds or carpets. We reccommend it for families with kids to entertain."

"Breakfast buffet was poor. The beds are too soft, they should be firmer."

"Front desk clerk was excellent. Very speedy check in and check out service. When seated for breakfast in the restaurant, the server when asked if they had decaf coffee, said no. At the end of breakfast, when we were presented the check, he offered to "make a pot if I wanted". I declined that very late offer and felt upset that he could have presented that offer at the beginning of breakfast. This was my only complaint."
