Suites located on floors 5 through 12 also include a private balcony. Pets are not allowed at this property.

Outdoor parking is available for $11 (+tax) per day and underground parking is available for $13 (+tax) per day. Parking costs include full in-out privileges. On-site amenities include free guest laundry facilities (with free laundry detergent), an ATM in the lobby, IT support from 9:00am - 5:00pm, free photocopy and fax services, and a 24-hour fitness centre (cardio equipment, free weights, and a universal weight machine).

Guests have several on-site dining options. A free continental breakfast is served daily from 7am - 10am in the breakfast room, while the on-site restaurant, Maclaren's on Elgin, serves lunch and dinner. The hours of operation for the restaurant are 12:00pm - 1:00am Monday to Wednesday, 12:00pm - 2:00am Thursday to Saturday, and 12:00pm - 12:00am on Sunday.

The Rideau Centre (shopping mall) and Byward Market (all-season farmers market, boutiques and restaurants) are located northeast of this property. This area can be accessed on-foot (16 minutes), by car (7 minutes), or via public transit (9 minutes on the #14 bus that stops on Elgin Street, just outside the hotel, and will stop at the Rideau Centre). The Ottawa International Airport (YOW) is about a 34 minute drive from this property (driving and walking time estimates: Google Maps).

Many guests described having a positive experience at this hotel and indicated that they were likely to return. Several aspects of the guest experience received compliments.

Many reviewers seemed to agree that the rooms were spacious, well appointed, and clean. One guest praised the housekeeping staff and said, "you can guarantee that your room will be spotless". A few guests specifically mentioned that they found the beds and pillows to be comfortable.

The free services offered by this hotel, such as the wireless Internet, parking, laundry facilities and laundry detergent, and in-room computers with free printing, were found to be added conveniences by many guests. The fully equipped kitchen and large LCD televisions were also mentioned as value added features by several reviewers. A few guests also found the room rate to be reasonable given the above mentioned free services.

Other aspects of this hotel that received compliments included the friendly and courteous staff, the variety of items available at the continental breakfast, and the hotel's proximity to pubs and restaurants on Elgin Street.

A few guests mentioned that they were disturbed by street noise in their rooms. While a few other reviewers indicated that they thought the property appeared dated, although these guests did not provide specific aspects of the hotel that could use upgrades.
