On MacLaren St, just off Elgin Street (known for its selection of bars and restaurants), this all-suite hotel is nestled in a neighbourhood that includes both commercial and residential buildings. Extended stay travellers and families requiring more space like this hotel, and appreciate having kitchen facilities in their rooms. On-site amenities include a 24-hr fitness centre. 

Depending on their needs and tastes, guests have their choice of a number of different room types in this 115-room boutique hotel. There are one-bedroom and studio Suites available, as well as larger, "deluxe" Suites. In all rooms, guests can expect a full kitchen, a balcony, WI FI, voicemail, a hair dryer and an iron and an ironing board. Pets are not permitted at this hotel, and parking is available on site for a cost of $14/day.

There is no on-site dining available, but there are a wide selection of restaurants available about a 2 minute walk away on Elgin Street. Guests are offered a complimentary continental breakfast daily.

Attractions and the business district are located within walking distance of this hotel. The National Arts Centre is about a 15 minute walk up Elgin Street. Parliament Hill is also about a 15 minute walk away. The Byward Market and the Rideau Canal are about a 20 minute walk away. Guests travelling by air should plan for about a 20 minute drive to travel between the hotel and MacDonald-Cartier International Airport (YOW) (distances and travel time estimates: Google Maps).

The Good
Guests reviewers, of those used in this analysis, found a number of things to praise at this hotel, including location and well-appointed rooms.

Both business travellers and tourists liked this hotel for its location, and found it conveniently located to the business district and to a number of Ottawa attractions. Several guests indicated that the hotel was well located to a grocery store as well, which made it easy to stock their in-room kitchens. There were comments from guests who liked the neighbourhood in which the hotel was situated, and liked that there were residential buildings in the mix.

Guests felt that the rooms were comfortable, sizeable and well-configured. Rooms were well stocked and well appointed with amenities.

There were a few comments from guests who felt that they had received good value for the price paid for this hotel. Words like "reasonable price" and "affordable" were reflective of guest sentiment.

There were a few additional comments, centring on things like comfy beds and accommodating staff.
The Bad
While a number of comments used for this analysis were favourable, there were a few common points among complaints, including a lack of detail when it came to cleaning, and unreliable WI FI connections.

A lack of thorough cleaning was an issue for a few guests, both in common areas in the rooms. Specifically, guests mentioned unclean sheets and dirty dishes in the kitchenette, as well as an unclean breakfast room.

A number of guest indicated that they had trouble with the WI FI, saying that the connections were slow and, at times, unreliable and spotty. One guest said "WI FI is painfully slow".

A number of guests felt that the bathrooms were in need of updating and repair. A few guests complained of broken shower heads. Another guest said that the tile in their bathroom was discoloured, likely due to age. 

The gym was small, according to a few guests, and the selection of equipment was limited.

There were some additional comments, mostly centring on things like unpleasant odours in the rooms and hallways and small beds.
