The Good
According to guests of this hotel, much of their positive experiences could be attributed to the hotel's location, as well as to good customer service.

Several guests liked being within walking distance to a number of business offices and Ottawa attractions. Besides Byward Market and Parliament Hill, guests said the hotel was close to all key downtown attractions and major shopping areas.

Guests were impressed with the customer service and found them helpful with information and questions. It seems as though if guests had a need, the staff were right there to provide assistance and support. Guests called them polite, friendly, professional and personable.

Guests also felt that there were good amenities in the rooms, and that they were comfortable. There was particular mention made of comfortable beds, beautiful bedding, excellent lighting, nice decor and convenient desk set up with cables for TV, gaming and Ethernet. In addition, guests staying on the higher floors enjoyed scenic views of the Ottawa River.

There were some additional comments about the pool being a nice large size and clean and the cabled Internet being one of the best in hotels.

The Bad
There were some negative comments in the reviews that surfaced from time to time, which were usually not "deal breakers" for those who commented.

A few guests mentioned that their bathroom were really small, and there was the occasional comment about the air conditioners not keeping up with the hot weather.

Guests often said that the Club rooms did not impress when it came to the service and food in the club lounge, which caused some to judge that staying at a Club level room was not worth the extra amount charged.

Occasionally guests mentioned that the hotel was an older property, and although the rooms had been renovated, certain common areas were dated such as the elevators and the pool's change rooms and deck.

Other one-time complaints included: no hot tub on site, no pay-per-view movies, the dining room was closed on a Saturday night, breakfast was pricey and one guest missed having a mini-fridge in the room.
