The GoodGuests who stayed at this hotel wrote very mixed reviews and there was more or less a balance of opinion on several features of the hotel. The guests who had positive things to say about the property usually complimented aspects of the hotel's guest rooms, the hotel's breakfast, and/or the location of the property.
Guests who praised the rooms typically said that they were "clean" while others described them as "comfortable." There were also occasional remarks that specifically said that the beds were comfortable and many guests seemed to think that the rooms were adequately appointed. For example, multiple guests seemed happy to have a flat screen television in their room while another guest liked having both a mini-fridge and a microwave.
Guests who were happy with the hotel's breakfast outnumbered those who were not. Not having to pay extra for the meal seemed to sway some guests as one, for example, called having free breakfast a "bonus." Multiple guests compared the breakfast to those of other hotels they had stayed at and the general opinion was that the Comfort Inn West's breakfast was relatively good.
Guests who expressed their fondness for the location of the hotel were not too numerous. However some guests said that they liked being near the Scotiabank Place. The area of the hotel was also described as "quiet" by a few guests.
The Bad
Many guests had concerns about the property and their stay.
Contrary to the stance of many, some guests complained about the breakfast. These guests typically thought that there was not enough selection. One guest wanted a protein added, one guest wanted cheese added, and another guest said that there was nothing hot provided. Occasionally a guest also said that the breakfast room was small.
Occasionally, guests indicated that they thought that the hotel was getting old. One guest said the property was "dated" while others mentioned their guest rooms and said they needed updating.
A few guests had troubles with noise at the property that was generated by other guests. There were a couple patrons who seemed to be warning future guests about a significant presence of noisy youth groups at the hotel. It seemed that the property was a good location for young sports teams visiting the area.
There was near-balance of opinion regarding the value that guests received for the prices they paid. However it seemed that slightly more guests thought they received moderately poor value for what they paid. A couple guests indicated that they thought the price of their room rate was expensive while others were mild and indicated that they didn't think that the value was the best.
