"Expensive for what you get."
"Expensive for what you get, small room, no view and noisy from room to room. I would spend the extra $25 to stay at the Westin. Excellent staff though."

"A glass of wine and a chocolat on your pillow! ...Nice!"
"Great start! I was greeted with a smile and offered a complimentary glass of sparkling wine at my arrival. Well priced for the area, excellent location and clean. I was very impressed with the clean bathroom, the turn down service and the mood music when I returned after an evening out. Found a chocolat on my pillow, a bottle of water and green apple on the bedside table. Couldn't be better unless of course, there was a back rub and a bed time story! I've been a nurse for almost twenty five years, and I can count on one hand the times someone made bedtime special for me (without reciprocal expectation). It certainly feels nice to get special treatment."

"Air conditioner and fan (no windows would open) didn't work. After first night fiddled with the controls after stiffling second night aske it be checked in AM while we were out. Returned 6 hours later; still daw not functioning. IMPOSSIBLE TO TELL whether it had been checked by engineer. Had to move to another room.
Municipal water work caused outage - They announce mid day that water would be off from 8pm until 4am. Scheduled around it but water went off before 7pm (missed shower) and was still off at 8am the next morning. UNABLE to get answer to the question, "How much advance notice did Hotel have from the City prior to interruption. There was a general sense that they may have had enough advance notice to alert people in advance. NO EFFORT to recognize inconvenience by offering to adjust bill.
Room was ergonomic mess. Key point easy chair with no lighting and bed with small ineffective lights. Just not designed by a hotel person.
It lists some pretty select company under the Preferred Hotels banner."

"My partner had a birthday and I called before I arrived to Ottawa to see if they would be able to do anything special for me. I never expected the woman at the front desk(Lorrie) to offer to go down the street and pick up a cake for me. That was something else and my next stay in Ottowa will surely include the Arc."

"Overall, the stay was terrific, however some areas could stand some improvement:
The food at the hotel restaurant was mediocre, and the service was slow.
The high-speed Internet connection does not allow stable VPN connections. This is a serious short-coming for business travellers."
