Overview
Queen's Landing is a Georgian-style mansion built at the waterfront of the historic harbour, at the mouth of the Niagara River and its meeting point at Lake Ontario, in the old historic town of Niagara-on-the-Lake.

The 100% non-smoking and air-conditioned property has 3 floors with elevator access and 142 guest rooms and suites. With meeting rooms and banquet space including two ballrooms, Queen's Landing can accommodate up to 300 guests for special events, conferences and weddings. Queen's Landing is winner of the Wedluxe Awards Best of 2010.

Food facilities at the hotel feature an on-site restaurant, called Tiara, serving traditional French cuisine. It is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner, from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and for a Sunday Brunch buffet from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The Bacchus Lounge, for casual dining, includes a waterfront patio (and classic barbecue) during the warm seasons, and is open daily from 12:00 noon to approximately 1:00 a.m. Room service is also available each day from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Additional hotel amenities include a business centre (with free wireless Internet), an indoor heated pool, a fitness centre, and a library. There are also guest rooms and facilities to accommodate disabled guests, and free parking is available to all guests in the hotel's parking lot.

Basic rooms, called Traditional, come with the following room amenities: choice of King, Queen, or 2 Double beds, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, umbrella, toiletries, newspaper, coffeemaker, room safe, 37" LCD television, and pay-per-view movies. Other more spacious rooms called Deluxe, Premium and Suites are available which have all the basic amenities with the addition of a fireplace; or which include a fireplace and also a jetted tub, plus free local calls and a 42" LCD television.

The Good
This hotel was very well liked by many of its guests, according to recent online reviews used for this analysis.

Many reviewers seemed to agree that this hotel is in a good location and has beautiful decor. One reviewer mentioned that the decor goes beyond with fresh flowers in all areas. Some others mentioned the nice view of the water, the ambiance and the design as being graceful amenities of the hotel. Still others said that it was good for shopping and an easy walk to historic sites.

Guests also appreciated the first rate business centre, the walking trails close by, the free shuttle service, as well as the easily available parking.

Rooms were enjoyed by guests for being clean, quiet, spacious and comfortable.

Many guests praised the hotel staff for being professional, friendly and accommodating.

The restaurant's staff and food received a great deal of praise in recent online reviews used for this summary. One reviewer said that the food and service were second to none.

Last of all, and perhaps even more enthusiastically, guests who held business conferences and weddings very highly praised this hotel. They were very impressed with the staff who organized and helped plan their group gatherings exclaiming that they hadn't missed even one small detail and that all the members of the wedding or business group were highly impressed with the food and service at the hotel. Great wedding hotel, great conference hotel and highly recommended appeared very frequently in the reviews.

The Bad
Although this hotel received a great deal of praise, they also disappointed and even upset some of their guests in recent online reviews used for this analysis.

One notable complaint came from a couple that were preparing for an intimate breakfast before leaving for home, only to find that the restaurant had been abandoned by the staff who had all been called to a meeting.

More than one reviewer said that wireless Internet should have been included in the price of the room.

Also what appeared to be scattered across the reviews, were complaints such as:  no microwave and DVD player in the room, no mini-bar in the room, no mini-fridge in the room, cooler empty in fitness room, ice machine broken, luggage delivered to the wrong room, air conditioning too noisy, no ceiling bathroom fan, no sheet of TV stations available, no artwork in room, no free beverage station in the hotel, not a great view from our room, rooms cold and no heat source in bathroom, fireplace didn't work, and crib given to us was old and had thin metal bars.

Bryon from Toronto, ON CA rated Queen's Landing 9 out of 10 on April 05, 2010 Verified Guest Hotel Review

"Great short stay"
"The room was very nice (we booked a premium room). There were 2 robes, a very nice bathroom with whirlpool tub, separate shower stall, granite double sink vanities and a great king size bed with a huge soft headboard. There was a CD player in the room. Nice touches. The room was very quiet and peaceful. Staff were helpful and service was great. The fridge in our room didn't work, we never called the front desk because we didn't care, but I'm sure it would have been fixed right away."

Helen from Oshawa, ON CA rated Queen's Landing 10 out of 10 on October 13, 2009 Verified Guest Hotel Review

"It is one of the classiest hotels that I have stayed in for a long time. The decor of the whole place is outstanding. Given the weather, we were not able to spend time outdoors, but noted how lovely the patio's appeared to be. The staff were very professional, friendly and efficient. I will be back!"

"Really enjoyed our stay @ Queens Landing....felt pampered. This hotel is very stately and gracious. It's the first hotel that we wanted to repeat a stay at. Which we did. August 14th was our second stay, July 4th 2009 being our first. Keep up the good service. We'll be back."
