The GoodThe majority of the reviews consulted for this analysis were positive, with praise going to the hotel's rates, rooms and location.
The hotel's rates were praised by many reviewers. They were described as affordable, reasonable and excellent, and one guest remarked the hotel was well worth the money spent.
Numerous lodgers complimented the hotel's accommodations. They described their rooms as clean, spacious, well equipped, nicely decorated and well designed, with comfortable beds. A few guests were disappointed with aspects of their rooms, however (see below).
Several guests were pleased with the hotel's location, describing it as easy to find, as well as close to shopping, restaurants and the U.S. border, which is approximately a 10-minute drive away. One reviewer stated that the location was quiet but still provided easy access to Niagara Falls attractions. It should be noted, however, that a few lodgers felt that the hotel was too far from the Falls.
The Bad
While the majority of reviews consulted for this analysis were positive, there were some common complaints about the parking and the rooms.
Several reviewers had complaints about the hotel's $12 nightly parking fee, and strongly felt it should have been included in their room rate. A couple of guests also mentioned the parking lot was tight and far from their rooms.
While the majority of lodgers were pleased with their clean and comfortable rooms, some guests had complaints. They reported mould spots in the bathrooms, worn decor, a shortage of hot water and limited channel selection.
Finally, as noted above, although many guests enjoyed the hotel's location, a few reviewers did feel that it was too far from the Falls.

"Overall, a fair experience at the Ramada Plaza."
"I stayed in a double Queen room with internet service and a writing desk on Dec. 31, 2011. My review of this hotel on Lundys Lane will be a fair one in that I am partially to blame for not doing the necessary research prior to my reservation. More specifically, I booked with this hotel because I did not want to pay the ridiculous fees other hotels on the main strip were asking for; as such, I experienced loud, drunken young adults who basically partied to the wee hours of the morning, broken glass, kids screaming in the hallways at 5am, food scattered in the hallways and, literally a hike to get to my hotel room (Front Desk failed to inform me that my room was not situated in the main building but rather the one next door)! Of course, the New Years Day morning was interesting in that there was no hot water. Because of a lunch gathering back in Hamilton at 11am or so, I wasn't able to shower. Then the final bill notice was slipped under my door. I say it was also a surprise in that I was charged 5.99 for a DMF fee(Front Desk informed me this was an advertising fee of the hotel and that every visitor will be charged for it). I was also charged a 3.99 facility fee (for the use of the pool, etc.). I didn't use any of these services but once again the Front Desk explained everyone is charged this fee. All in all, once I calculated the final price, I was charged about 25.00 or so of fees I have never heard of course and the good ol' HST. On the plus side, this hotel is pet friendly, has convenient shuttle service to Fallsview (at 20.00 per person) and a convenient bar and grill next door). In conclusion, if you want cheap comfort during special holiday weekends, this hotel will be your best bet as you certainly will not experience anything of a luxurious nature. Thank you."

"Hotel was nice, customer service horrible."
"The customer service was very poor. It took us about an hour to check in which caused our son to miss part of his baseball tournament. VERY disappointing and unprofessional."

"Hotel was very clean, and the staff was very helpful, but we found the heated pool to be very cold, and the selection on the tv was not good...other than that I would recommend this hotel was very good and would recommend it to anyone"

"Satisfied with room but not amenities"
"In fairness this hotel is under renovations and trying to keep operating so it was not full service....
The frig and micro in room were a huge disappointment. Found it odd when we arrived the electrical cord was unplugged. Realized why when our food in the frig was frozen the next morning. This frig had no temp gauge. On (plugged in) /Off (unplugged) were the only two settings. The microwave was turn dial from approx 25yrs ago. Didn't even attempt to use after we discovered the frig issue. Here is hoping these appliances were a result of the "influx" renos occuring otherwise it is very misleading as applicances available.
The "high speed" internet connection was anyting but. The reception was on the lowest bar of strength... Like watching paint dry...."
