The CN Tower and Rogers Centre (home of the MLB's Toronto Blue Jays) is about a 22 minute drive away from this hotel (via the 427 and Gardiner Expressway). Many guests described their suites as clean and spacious, with several reviewers also mentioning that the hotel, in general, appeared to be clean. Guests also complimented the configuration of their suites, specifically the separation of living areas and bedroom areas. The full kitchens were found to be an added convenience by several guests.
The staff, throughout the hotel, were frequently described as friendly. One guest said that the staff "went out of their way to make sure we were not lacking anything".
The free breakfast was praised by several reviewers for the variety of hot items provided and for the food quality.
The free reliable wireless Internet service, free parking, and private courtyard area were all mentioned as value added features by guests, with several reviewers stating that the hotel offered good value for the money they spent. Many guests said that they were likely to stay at this hotel again in the future or that they would recommend the property to others.
While positive reviews outnumbered negative reviews, among the reviews used for this analysis, there were a few common concerns.
Several guests described areas of the hotel that could use minor upgrades. A few guests thought that the carpeting appeared worn and unclean. A couple of reviewers complained that the windows did not open, while a few other guests thought that the kitchenettes appeared slightly run down. However, it is important to mention again that this hotel, at the time of writing, was undergoing renovations and will be reopened as TownePlace Suites by Marriott in August 2012.
Some reviewers found the location inconvenient for exploring Toronto area attractions. A few guests also complained that there were few restaurants nearby and no on-site restaurant. A couple of reviewers complained that the location made it difficult to travel around the city without a car.
A couple of guests complained about smelling cigarette smoke and other unpleasant odours in their non-smoking rooms.
While many guests found their rooms to be clean (as mentioned above) a couple of guests complained about a lack of housekeeping service on a multi-night stay and one reviewer said that her housekeeper "did nothing other than make the bed and change some towels".
