The Bad
Overall, reviews for this hotel were somewhat split between positive reviews and negative reviews (among the reviews used for this analysis). However, more guests said that they were not likely to stay at this hotel again in the future, than guests who recommended the hotel.

Many guests described the staff at this hotel as disinterested, unhappy with their job (or did not take their job seriously), and unhelpful. Reviewers described inefficient check-in processes, billing discrepancies at check-out, guests who were seemingly ignored, and front desk agents who were unable to resolve technical difficulties with the wireless Internet and telephone services.

As mentioned above, guests were somewhat divided about the cleanliness of their guest rooms. While many reviewers thought that their rooms were clean, there were several guests who disagreed. Reviewers described dirty carpeting, unpleasant odours, stained bedding, and items left behind by previous guests. One guest said that "the room was not cleaned after the previous guest because we found a condom on the floor! [sic]" Another reviewer said that the carpeting appeared to be so dirty that he "could not remove [his] shoes the entire stay".

A few guests complained that the fitness facility was small and that the equipment was not in working order.

A few reviewers also noticed that their rooms were in need of repairs or upgrades. Guests described air conditioners and televisions that were not in working order, and plumbing inconsistencies (drainage and water temperature).

"expected more from a well known hotel chain."

"No smoking room but you could smell smoke. Early morning the smoke was very strong. Small pillows half the size of standard pillows. Would not expect when you have king size bed. Would not stay again even if it was free."

"I was impressed with the spaciousness of the room ad how reasonably priced it was. It was very clean although decor was outdated. Staff at the front desk was not as helpful and professional as I would have liked and did not know the answers to most of my questions and seemed uninterested in finding out the answers."

"Discomfort at the Comfort Inn"

"I chose this hotel on the basis of comparatively low price to others in the area. On the surface it appeared to be a reasonable selection. My room was neat however the carpeting was so old and dirty I kept my shoes on. The through-wall air conditioner / heating unit was noisy and in poor condition. During the night the smoke detector chirped intermittentaly as they do when in need of fresh batteries. It began around 2 AM and continued until I vacated the room. The front desk clerk noted my complaint and told me a manager wouldn't be present until 11 am-and I was welcome to await his arrival. I phoned the hotel several times throughout the day and no one answered the phone. When I finally contacted the manager he told me I should have changed rooms (at 2 AM or later) so it was entirely my fault that I was unable to sleep that night. There are better places than the Meadowvale Comfort Inn at which to stay in the area. I truly regret my selection of that facility."

"Excellent accommodations for price and location"

"The accommodations at this hotel were excellent; the rooms and corrdiors were very clean and tidy. I would highly recommend this hotel, particularly if you are on a budget, excellent amenities for the price, i.e. microwave, small fridge and internet! My only complaint: I found the cooling unit a bit loud - other than this the Comfort Inn provides great accommodation. Location also is excellent, close to the 401 and 403."
