The Good
Guests typically enjoyed their stays at this hotel.

Guests like the rooms. They were uniquely designed with modern amenities and décor, had exposed brick or wood feature walls, were clean and offered comfortable beds and a lot of space. Some overlooked the courtyard and some had large windows.

Guests typically liked the location, for its proximity to the city’s downtown dining and entertainment.

Guests liked the staff. They were friendly, efficient, very helpful and offered good restaurant suggestions.

Guests loved the restaurant on site. Many guests were impressed with it and called it amazing and excellent.

Adding value were: Aveda toiletries, excellent room service, Japanese-style soaker tubs, complimentary drinks and snacks and Netflix available.

The Bad
Guests did not have many issues at this hotel, but some offered their critique.

There is no on-site parking available, and guests quoted various costs, some paying $20, or $15 or even as low as $6 per night. Guests who did not find the cheaper parking thought it was a little pricey.

Several guests noted that the area had panhandlers and sketchy people milling about. For some this was not threatening nor a deal breaker for staying again, but occasionally a guest said they would not return for this reason.

Guest sometimes complained of noise disturbances, from the AC units, neighbouring guest rooms and from the city’s nightlife, but this seemed rare.

Other complaints or nitpicks found were: pillows were too big and firm and there was no pillow menu available, mattress was thin on a Murphy-style bed, no ice or vending machines, bathroom lighting not bright enough, tub was stained, no swimming pool, rooms smelled weird or musty, no window in the guest room, and the open-concept bathroom was not convenient.

One guest said the staff would not allow a later than 11 am check out and said they would charge a full day’s rate if check out time was violated.
