OverviewLocated just off Highway 401 and about a 15-minute drive south of London's city centre, the Courtyard by Marriott London (formerly the Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites London) is popular with business and vacation travellers who require a hotel with on-site dining just off the highway.
This non-smoking property has 120 air-conditioned guest rooms, each offering free Wi-Fi, cable TV, a coffeemaker, a mini-fridge, a desk, an iPod docking station, a seating area, an iron and ironing board and a hair dryer. Standard rooms provide one king or two queen beds, while various rooms and suites offer additional amenities such as a separate bedroom and a jetted tub. Suites also include a sofabed.
Hotel amenities include an indoor pool, a fitness room, over 1,700 square feet of meeting/banquet space, a business centre, guest laundry facilities and free parking. There is a convenience store as well as a BBQ and picnic area. The Bistro, which is licensed, is located on site and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. The GoodThe majority of the reviews sourced for this analysis were positive, with much praise going to the hotel's rooms, staff and location.
The hotel's accommodations were praised by many reviewers. They described their rooms as clean, spacious, well equipped and tastefully decorated, with comfortable beds and linens.
Numerous lodgers offered compliments to the hotel's staff. They were characterized as pleasant, accommodating, attentive and helpful with directions.
Several guests were pleased with the hotel's location. They described it as being close to highway access, as well as many restaurants, shopping, the University of Western Ontario and Tim Hortons.
The Bad
While the majority of reviews consulted for this analysis were positive, there were a few common complaints about the the value, the restaurant and noise transfer.
A few lodgers were disappointed with the hotel's value. They complained that the hotel did not offer free coffee or a complimentary breakfast, which they felt should have been included in the rates.
While some guests enjoyed the food at the hotel's restaurant, a few guests were disappointed with their experiences. They reported slow service, uninformed wait staff and a limited menu.

"Good but need improvement"
"Staff was very nice and very helpful. Room was clean, beds are very good.
The reason why I would not go back to this hotel is that the air conditioning unit was *extremely* loud, therefore we had to turn it off to be able to sleep (with 28°C at midnight outside, we could have done with the A/C).
Also, we could not close the curtains (that's the way they are designed). Being in an east facing room, this is very annoying in the morning."

"All in all, a good place to stay."
"Easy access to the 401, although a little ways out of the downtown area, if that's where you're going. Room/bed was comfortable, and front desk staff were pleasant and efficient. Very minor issue with one component of my evening meal at the restaurant. I only mentioned it to the server because she asked, and nowhere near enough to have it sent back, even though she offered to have it re-done. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the cost of the dish in question had been discounted, although this may have been done at the server's discretion. Water in the spa could have been a little hotter, but I do like it hotter than most. All in all, a good place to stay, and will do so if my travels take me back to that area of London."

"Thanks for the terry robe after a snowy drive!"
"After poor weather and a very late night I arrived in London. I opened the door to the room and was delighted to find a soft terry robe sitting on the bed - such a simple feature yet it seemed so welcoming. The bed was comfortable, the room was quiet and the washroom was sparkling. What more could anyone want after a long day? Thank you!"

"I would like to see a lower rate and I should have inquired about a business rate. Otherwise good experience. Weather was good as well.
Also good to see a small bar and restaurant, did not have to drive after arriving"

"The hotel is fairly new and was therefore clean. We needed to be in the North end of London so it was a bit far that way. But we plan to stay there again. It was worth the extra drive and close to the 401."

"Just a suggestion - More attentive, quicker service for anyone staying at your hotel with small children. I was accompanied by three children under the age of 5 and felt the wait time, for breakfast, in the restaurant was too long for the little ones. They seemed to have lost interest in eating by the time the food arrived. From my experience as a parent and an educator, most children lose interest if a whole meal takes longer than 40 minutes. The food was great but just needed to have quicker, waitress response time."
