Hotel facilities include free parking (including for trucks and RVs), room service, a courtesy hospital shuttle, a restaurant serving breakfast (not free), a lounge, and meeting/banquet facilities. The hotel also features an indoor pool, a waterslide, a hot tub, and an exercise room. Additionally there is a business centre in the lobby and coin operated guest laundry is also on site.
The hotel has 172 guest rooms on three floors and rooms include free high speed Internet access, free newspapers, free local calls, hair dryers, irons, ironing boards, and mini-fridges. The hotel also has microwaves however they are available on a request basis.
Check in time at this property is at 3pm while check out time is at 11am.
The GoodGuests who stayed at the Best Western Plus Lamplighter Inn in London were generally impressed with the hotel. The property received strong reviews due to its facilities, its appeal to families, and its attractive look.
The main facility at the hotel that impressed guests was the pool. Numerous patrons said that they enjoyed it or "loved" it and several guests called it "great." The pool had a waterslide and that made it popular with parents who were traveling with children. Occasionally guests with children also liked that the hotel had an arcade.
The property also received a lot of compliments for being physically attractive. Besides the pool, which multiple guests called "beautiful," guests enjoyed the hotel's atrium. One guest felt as though the pool and atrium gave the hotel a "tropical feel."
The rooms at the hotel did not receive the strongest reviews however some guests mentioned that they liked their views, some of which "overlooked the pool and waterslide area."
This hotel was not generally sought out for its location however a number of guests indicated that it was convenient for the Parkwood Hospital and/or the Victoria Hospital.
Numerous guests said that they would return to the hotel in the future or that they would recommend it to others.
The Bad
Guests that did not enjoy their stay at this hotel were rare however there were some bad points that were highlighted by multiple guests.
Many guests thought that their rooms were just average or mediocre. In particular, some guests complained about the sofa beds in their rooms which were described as uncomfortable at times. Noise was also a moderate problem at the hotel as there were occasional complaints about disturbances from other guests.
Some guests that were not happy with the hotel mentioned that there were weddings taking place at the time of their stay. Its possible that these groups were given priority over independent travelers when it came to requests being met.
One visitor indicated that he/she requested two adjacent rooms and that the request was unmet. He/she also said that there were "At least 2 wedding parties...booked into the hotel" and that there was "partying in the hallways until at least 3am." That guest did not specifically say that her requests were unmet because of the wedding groups however another guest did have that opinion.
He/she was unhappy with being in the hotel's "back wing" where there was "no elevator." This guest said that his/her party "couldn't move because they were four weddings" at the hotel during their stay.
TripAdvisor.com ranked the Best Western Plus Lamplighter Inn 5th out 40 hotels and the site had 101 reviews.
Priceline.com guest ratings averaged to 9.2 points out of 10 and the property ranked 15th of 31 London hotels.
