Guests who were impressed by the room they received often said that it was clean. Slightly more often, guests expressed approval of the view from their room which overlooked the harbour and Lake Ontario. Occasionally, guests also said that they liked having a large television in their room.
Several guests also thought highly of the staff of this hotel. They were frequently described as "friendly" or "helpful."
Many guests also said that they liked the location of this property. Part of that definitely had to do with the view that derived from the close proximity to Lake Ontario however guests also liked being close to downtown Kingston. Multiple guests said that they were able to find nice restaurants near the hotel.
Several guests who dined directly at the hotel were also impressed. The food at the Aquaterra restaurant was very well reviewed as was food ordered via room service. Guests also appreciated being given free apples and cookies at check-in time.
The Bad
Guests who disliked aspects of their stay were a minority as this was a well-liked hotel. However, a couple of issues still stood out in guest reviews.
The most common complaint that guests made pertained to the parking at the hotel. Most guests who complained simply lamented over the price of parking which was $15 per night. Guests who did not complain directly about the price, said that the parking itself was tight and hard to manoeuvre.
Some guests complained about the Sleep Number beds that the hotel features in most of their rooms. Those are beds that can be adjusted to certain levels of hardness or softness. The guests that complained about the beds found them uncomfortable with fewer guests stating something to the opposite.
