The Good
Guest reviewers provided mixed reviews of the property with some liking the hotel, having considered it good value for the dollar and others feeling uncomfortable there and assessing it as not worth the price. Guests who liked the hotel typically noted several areas that were pleasing.

Some guests liked the price they had paid for the room and considered it commensurate with the comfort received during the stay. They typically found the rooms to be clean and spacious and the staff warm and friendly. Occasionally a guest would say they had a quiet room.

Several guests liked the basic continental breakfast and found it sufficient to get a start on the day.

Some guests were pleased to be able to bring their dogs and cats to this hotel.

Guests who liked the location found it convenient to downtown and the train station with easy access to the 401.

The Bad
Guests who did not like the hotel focused upon a few areas of weakness: the dated condition of the property, noise disturbances, disappointment in the quality of various amenities, value for the dollar and even the location.

Some guests felt that although the hotel is being renovated, it was just too tired. It seems that there may have been a lack of attention to detail and the hotel lacked the 'polish' required to wow today's more sophisticated travellers. Guests complained of slow staff at the front desk that also responded in a manner that showed a lack of interest in the negative feedback and concerns brought to their attention.

Complaints were numerous and covered many areas: the hotel was different than the pictures online (on the top of a shopping centre), paper-thin walls, very little sleep due to talking neighbours, rooms completely run down, stale air in the room and throughout, the whole place smelled funky, windows were dirty, rooms were terribly outdated, Internet didn't work, beds were creaky, sheets torn, cleanliness is lacking, beds sagged in the middle, one sink did not drain well, shower head did not work well and definitely overpriced for what it offers.

Guests who did not like the location said it was too far from downtown, the waterfront and the better restaurants and bars.

"Very poor choice for the value."

"Plumbing was antiquated, there was no thermostat in the room - just an ancient noisy window air conditioner. No movies available, just a rather old tv. No extra blanket for the bed."

"When we arrived there the hotel looks clean until we reached our room. We had a smoker room when I did ask for non-smoking.They did clean the room but the smell was there as soon we opended the door. The breakfast was for people on a rush...; I will recommend on-site pool; AC makes noise a fan will be better for us. I will definitely recommend this hotel to someone else with this detail.
