"Deerhurst has always been portrayed as a high end resort. It is in need of a lot of updating! Rooms were dated and not as clean as I would like. The changerooms for the pool had a terrible odor and many locker doors hanging off. The service in the restaurant was terrible, we didn't go back. The washrooms shared by the restaurant and the other amenities were dirty and had handles broken off the toilets. They provided a lot of activities but very costly. Overall we were very disappointed based on the cost and reputation of Deerhurst Resort."

"During the last day of my stay, my wife, son, daughter and myself, were to play the Lakeside Golf Course. Upon our arrival, the transportation vehicle was not there so we had to carry our clubs down the hill about 100 yds to the clubhouse. Upon our arrival, the starter motioned to the young man working the delivery cart as to say 'you should have been up top for the customer'. During the day, the temp was so uncomfortable, that we packed in our day after nine holes. We handed in our carts, and were to be driven up the hill to our vehicle by the same young man that was to have been available to us at the start of the day. He loaded all four sets of our clubs on the cart and headed to the parking lot. He certainly had a heavy foot and when he approached a sharp turn/dip, swerved and through my sons clubs to the ground. He quickly stopped, ran back 10 yards, picked them up and put them back on the cart. He mumbled sorry, and took us to our vehicle. Needless to say, my son was not happy, and he expressed to me his displeasure. The young man left, and we loaded our vehicle. My son looked closer at his clubs and started to use language that would not normally come out of his mouth. The irons (which he meticulously cleans after every round) has gouges and scratches on them. I must say, I was disappointed with the blase attention at the course!"

"The grounds are beautiful! We enjoyed walking around to have a look at everything. We had heard a lot about this place and wanted to see for ourselves. Luckily we got a deal on the room or I don't think we would have stayed there - too expensive! When we compare the regular price of the room with others we have stayed in, there is really no comparison. I'm not sure what the cost is based on but I know we have stayed in much nicer rooms for a lot less money. I must say that the view from our patio door was beautiful in the morning. We were looking out at the lake and with the fall colours just starting it was a very beautiful site. We will surely go back some time (we have friends in the area) if we can find another discounted offer."

"Very expensive for just an ordinary room. The facilities seemed good but we got there too late due to weather and had to leave early so we were not able to see much but our room. We did manage to get there in time to catch a meal before the restaurant closed and it was very good.
Room service for coffe, strawberries and crossants was very pricy at $28."

"I was disappointed not to be able to go snowshoeing or dog-sled riding, but I guess you can't control the weather! We still enjoyed our stay, however - I had a wonderful time in the spa, for instance!"
