This hotel is located across from Dundurn Castle and Park which overlooks Lake Ontario, a 9-minute drive from downtown Hamilton.

The smoke-free hotel offers 52 rooms over 3 floors. All rooms include free Wi-Fi, free local calls, a 52” flat screen TV with cable, a coffeemaker, a mini-fridge, a microwave, an iron and ironing board, a hair dryer and climate control. Rooms are furnished with 1 or 2 queen beds or 1 king bed. Room extras include a double Jacuzzi.

Free outdoor parking is available on site. Pets (2) are welcome for $20 each per night.

Reflections Dining Lounge offers views of Dundurn Castle and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Room service is also available.

Hotel amenities include a sauna, a fitness centre, a business centre, free local faxes, dry cleaning, a convenience store, ice machine, an ATM, an elevator, free newspapers and meeting rooms.

McMaster University, First Ontario Centre (Hamilton arena), and the Hamilton GO Station can all be reached within 8 minutes by car from the hotel. The Hamilton GO Station is a 7-minute drive. The Good
This hotel usually provided a comfortable stay at a reasonable cost.

The staff stood out as a highlight of the hotel. They were well liked for being friendly and accommodating.

Guests typically liked the rooms. They were usually described as clean and spacious with comfortable beds and some had seen recent updates.

The location was convenient. Guests found it close to downtown, the military museum, the hospital and area attractions.

The restaurant and lounge were well liked. Guests enjoyed all-day breakfast, room service and dinners on site, along with a good menu and reasonable prices. Many were pleased with the nice views of Dundurn Castle from the dining room.

Guests often felt the room rates were reasonable and planned to return.

The Bad
There were some themes among the complaints found online in the reviews.

Some guests smelled fresh smoke from cigarettes and marijuana although the hotel is non-smoking. Some guests found the rooms assigned to them to smell of stale smoke as well and occasionally complained of musty and pet odour.

Noise disturbance was mentioned occasionally from: neighbouring rooms, slamming doors, AC unit fans, an ice machine and traffic.

Other complaints found were: high security deposit required, windows did not open, bathroom was dimly lit, towels were scratchy, ineffective AC units, stained carpets, old mattresses and the parking lot was difficult to find and access from the street.

Some guests noticed questionable activities from other guests at the hotel. These reviewers cited prostitution and drug trafficking.

Some guests felt the hotel needed security patrols and generally more staff. Occasionally guests were given rooms that were not serviced.

Some guests said the staff was not overly friendly, sometimes disinterested and sometimes rude.
