The Good
Reviews left online by former guests offered mixed opinions.

Guests who gave this hotel a better rating generally felt that the hotel offered a clean place to sleep and a hot shower for a lower room rate. Some guests who had microwaves and mini-fridges in their rooms said the rooms were well equipped.

The hotel's location was usually seen as a plus by these guests who were looking to access the nearby bars, clubs and restaurants and found it handy to the bus station and a short bus ride to the University of Guelph campus.
The Bad
Guests who did not like the hotel complained along several topics.

The rooms for these guests were unacceptable due to their age, poor maintenance and upkeep, non-working amenities or they did not meet their standard of cleanliness. Besides the rooms, the public areas that really needed attention were the elevator and carpets. A few mentioned the smell of must or smoke and weed and one guest put it this way: "the entire place smells like an ashtray".

Noise was another common theme among complaints; besides partying guests till all hours of the night, there was noise from trains, and the bus depot with buses beeping regularly.

Some guests had difficulties with the staff and said they were penalized with extra charges unfairly. One guest claimed to have had money stolen out of a locked room. Others had paid online for a room and the hotel did not honour the booking saying they could not find the reservation. One guest booked a "double room" thinking it was for a double occupancy and found only 1 bed in a very small room. He was told he would have to pay an additional $40 for two beds.

Some guests felt the area of town was sketchy, with unsavoury characters lurking around and one guest said his motorcycle was tampered with in the parking lot.
