Staff received a number of favourable comments from guests who were impressed with staff's commitment to solid customer service. Staff routinely went above and beyond to ensure guests' needs were met and that they were supplied with all the comforts of home. Words like friendly, efficient and helpful surfaced frequently.
Location was a draw for a number of guests who appreciated this hotel's proximity to the University of Guelph (less than a 5-minute walk), Stone Road Mall (20-minute walk, 5-minute drive), Guelph city centre and the Via Rail Station (both just over a 5-minute drive away).
Guests said rooms were clean (a number of guests described them as spotless) and well-laid out. They said they were of spacious and able to comfortably accommodate their needs.
A number of guests liked the quality and the selection of the food offered at the complimentary breakfast. They liked that there were hot items included (eggs, pancakes, sausages) in addition to a variety of quality baked goods.
The Bad
While many of the reviews used for this analysis were favourable, there were a few common complaints among guests.
Several guests were disappointed that there was an outdoor pool, as opposed to an indoor pool because of seasonal limitations. A couple of guests thought that the pool area was dirty.
Noise disturbance was an issue for a few guests. They complained about loud conversations, alarm clocks and TVs coming from adjacent rooms. A couple of guests complained about noisy guests and loud ice machines in the hallways.
There were some peripheral comments regarding spotty, slow Wi-Fi connections.
