The Good
Some of the comments used for this analysis were positive, and guests were happy with the price point and with the hotel's location.

There was a sense from guests that there was good value received for the price they paid. Words like "reasonable", "affordable" and "inexpensive" surfaced frequently in the reviews.

The Bad
Many of the comments used for this analysis were negative, and guests were particularly critical of this hotel's cleanliness and aging decor.

This hotel was showing its age and, based on guest comments, in need of updates throughout. In particular, guests commented on worn carpets, furniture, linens and bedding.

Some guests suggested that there was a lack of detail when it came to cleaning. Carpets were soiled, stained and quite dirty, according to a number of guests. Some guests complained about cobwebs and dust in the corners of their rooms and about dirty bathrooms.

Several guests complained about unpleasant odours in their rooms. A few guests thought that they were coming from the on-site restaurant. Some other guests described the odours as musty, while others believed the odours were coming from dirty carpets in their rooms.

A few guests complained that their room was dark and dingy and would have benefited from more lighting.

"Try it if you don't have any other choice"

"location near downtown, very convinence to shop and close to the tourist scenary. But the room is small, dirty and smelly carpet."

"Restaurant was busy due to Bus Tours but food was excellent. The room was amazing and we wished we could stay longer to enjoy the comforts of the room."

"The Quality Inn in Gananoque was great. Expetionally clean and comfortable. The inn had The Lobster Trap restuarant on the site but although the service was great from the two waitress's that served us we were not that impressed with our dinner or breakfast. I seemed to get the end of a box of serial - the crumbs. I think they paid more attention to tourist buses than individual customers. In our room there was a king size bed - whirlpool bath and a full bathroom. Coffee maker, microwave oven and fire. Pillows could do with being replaced - very thin. But overall we were very pleased with room and service."

"We were very pleased with our stay from the upgrade to a suite because another guest canceled to the full hot breakfast included in the price of the room. Having the Lobster Pot on site is a bonus and we enjoyed a dinner there also. I would stay at the Quality Inn Suites, Gananoque again!"

"Enjoyed having the pool facilities"

"The room was very nice, but the fireplace - which normally would have been a big attraction - was on and the room was uncomfortably hot. I would have had more to say, but we arrived late and had to leave early so it was hard to judge about the other services at the hotel"

"We would stay in this hotel again, the only complaint we had was our room was in the building right beside the resturant which served sea food and we couldn't sit outside or have the window open as the smell of sea food turned your stomach. We certainly would ask not to stay in that part of the hotel again!"

"Everything was very good except the beds. The mattresses were soft and deformed and the pillows were terrible. Cheap chipped foam pillows with no support."
