"This hotel had lovely friendly staff - I felt welcomed and cared for. The pool staff and the front counter staff were great to my family. We had our dog, Jack, with us. He is a Golden Retreiver and he enjoyed his first hotel stay as well. It was great to have a room on the ground floor to get out with the dog so easily. Wonderful planning. Fabulous location. Would love to visit again."

"Two main problems. When we arrived at 4:15 pm (3:00 pm check-in), the room wasn't ready for an hour. Which meant we had to fill an hour tired and dirty - and ended up going for a dinner which we would have enjoyed much more after showers and a change of clothes - in other words, our evening was not very enjoyable. Then we were given a room, only to burst in on other guests who had also been given the room.
Then, the room we did get was right by the outside door, which slammed every time someone went in or out - which happened at regular intervals until about 4:00 am, so at least one of us got little sleep. Noise insulation to adjoining rooms seemed fine, but we could hear every voice and the door in the hallway.
As the room we were given had not been set up for three, the amount of soap, towels etc. was barely adequate.
Breakfast was very good - but the breakfast room was too small for the traffic."

"The hotel is under construction and it is in shambles. The first room we were given had a terrible smell of glue. We refused it.
The second room was clean but tired. The bedding was minimal and the children were cold during the night. The pillows were small tired and lifeless."

"We did not know the hotel was under a renovation. The sauna was not operating when we were there. The front desk personnel were not overly helpful with regards to questions about attractions, restaurant info, etc."

"The hotel that we stayed at was under major renovations and when we pulled in we expected the worst. We were pleasantly surprised when we opened the door to our room and found it very nicely decorated and more importantly very clean. Our stay was during the weekend so we were not disturbed at all by the noise of the renovations. I had booked the room over the internet for only the one night stay but my husband and I decided to head to Collingwood a day early. When I phoned the 800 number I was told told there were no rooms available at the Best Western for the previous night. When my husband and I arrived in Collingwood we decided to try anyway in case there had been a cancellation. When we asked the clerk he said there were plenty of rooms available. If we had not decided to check you would have lost our business for the night. This could be a costly mistake in the future for Best Western. We very much enjoyed our stay and will return to Collingwood again in the future. It's a beautiful area."
