Days Inn is my best value pick for Collingwood. It has the highest guest satisfaction levels for a hotel in Collingwood, judging from online guest ratings, and some days its rates are cheaper than the rest, but I've noticed that prices in Collingwood fluctuate quite a lot. It's ranked #1 out of 6 hotels in Collingwood with an 8.2/10 guest rating, so if you can find a competitive rate for it, I believe you will have obtained an excellent value.

Guests thought the staff were great and liked the well-appointed rooms which they said were clean, comfortable and quiet. Guests also liked the location for being close to 24-hr groceries, restaurants and the ski hill. It's also very well situated near to the town's edge and still a short driving distance to the main attractions in the area. There are even many biking trails near to the waterfront which would take about 4 minutes to get to by bike. (That's my kind of hotel!)

There's golfing very nearby at the Blue Mountain Golf and Country Club, a 3-minute drive away. For skiers, the Blue Mountain Ski Resort is a 10-minute drive. Wasaga Beach and the provincial park are about 25 minutes away. If you're hungry, there's Azzurra Trattoria about a 4-minute drive from the hotel, and if you're in the mood for a scenic drive along the waterfront, Barcelo's Restaurant & Grill can be reached in 20 minutes.

Guests wanting kichenettes can rent a suite at the hotel which may also feature a fireplace. The hotel is convenient for young and old families with a guest laundry facility and elevator on site and guests can find some stimulation and relaxation at the hotel's indoor pool, hot tub and fitness centre. Adding even more value to your stay are free amenities, Wi-Fi, continental breakfast, parking and local calls.

Areas of interest: The nearby Blue Mountain Resort, a 12-minute drive from the town centre of Collingwood, offers a whole  host of activities in summer including mountain biking, scenic bike tours, guided hikes, the Plunge water adventure and a woodlot low-rope challenge activity. In winter the resort offers skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, and snowshoeing.

Wasaga Beach, the longest fresh water beach in the world, is about a 5-minute drive from Collingwood at the closest point. Connected to the Wasaga Beach Provincial Park, it offers a host of activities, from swimming, boating and fishing, to birding, biking, and even cross country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter months.

There's also hiking on the Bruce Trail which can be accessed from Collingwood in about 15 minutes by car. And guests can enjoy the nearby Georgian Trail in summer on their bikes and go swimming in public beaches along the trail in beautiful Georgian Bay. Cyclists can stop for a bite to eat in Thornbury where the path leads to a restaurant with patio overlooking the bay, and continue onward to Meaford, where they will pass through an apple orchard.
