Friendly staff, close to the 401, and clean and comfortable rooms

Facilities at the two-story hotel (no elevator) include laundry, free parking, and a business centre. There is no restaurant at the property however there is a dining area for guests and free deluxe continental breakfast is served each morning.
The pet friendly hotel has 62 guest rooms and they include free wireless Internet, free local calls, and free weekday newspapers. Amenities include air conditioning, coffee makers, desks, hair dryers and some rooms have microwaves.
Some online resources claim that there are refrigerators at the property however we inquired with a Front Desk agent as to the availability of those fridges and we were told that the hotel does not have them.
The 401 highway is about 350m to the north of the hotel and the Cobourg rail station is about 1.8km to the south of the hotel. The town of Cobourg borders on Lake Ontario and lakeside parks are about 3.0km (all distances - Google Maps).
Check in time at this hotel is at 3pm while check out time is at 11am.

Guests that stayed at the Comfort Inn Cobourg were generally happy with the hotel. The staff, the hotel's location, and the guest rooms all received several compliments.
In regard to the staff, they were often described as "friendly" and some guests also commented on their efficiency. People who stayed at this hotel felt very welcome and the employees definitely made a difference.
The location of the property was well-liked by patrons who were passing through town. Many guests indicated that the 401 highway was near the hotel and that seemed to help many guests. Occasionally a guest mentioned that downtown Cobourg was also easy to get to from the hotel.
Numerous guests enjoyed that that their rooms were clean and/comfortable. One guest, for example, said he/she "was amazed at how clean the room was" and said that it was "probably the cleanest...of any of the Comfort Inn and Quality Inn motels" that he/she had stayed in.
The breakfast was generally well-liked. There were a fair number of people that described it as mediocre or "basic" but there were also a fair number who felt that they received good selection and quality food.
Guests that did not like the hotel had a few common complaints.
The hotel was not a non-smoking property and occasionally a guest who was a non-smoker mentioned that he/she ended up in a smoking room. The smell left behind by previous smokers bothered these guests. Perhaps related, there were some guests who felt that their rooms have been doused with scented chemicals. Multiple guests indicated that people with breathing problems might have trouble if put into one of these rooms.
Like many Comfort Inns, this hotel was a two-story property and it did not have an elevator. Many guests were inconvenienced by this as it made their second floor rooms less accessible.
