The Good

Past patrons who liked the room typically said that they found it comfortable and numerous guests singled out the bed and/or an abundance of pillows. Guests often said the room they stayed in was clean and some patrons occasionally expressed happiness with having a fridge and microwave.

Guests frequently approved of the staff at the Comfort Inn Port Hope as well. When commenting on interactions with staff, guests described employees as either friendly or helpful. The number of times that guests complained about staff were not entirely absent, however the ratio of compliments to complaints was 6 to 1 (in lowest terms).

Guests also liked something about the breakfast much more often than they expressed dislike (about 9 to 1 ratio). When guests praised the breakfast they normally just implied that they liked it with a generic comment. However some stated that it had a good selection and occasionally guests singled out the waffles as particularly enjoyable.

The Bad
Guest complaints about the Comfort Inn Port Hope usually pertained to either the room, the value received for the price paid, or to maintenance.

Room compliments were more common than room complaints in this hotel’s reviews but the minority of guests that did complain often referenced an unpleasant smell. The smell was not always pin-pointed but pet odor was mentioned in one instance with other complaints normally referring to something “musty”.

Guests thought well of the value that they received more often than not. However a complaint in general about the price of the room was the second most frequently voiced negative opinion in reviews.

Occasionally guests complained about something related to the maintenance of the hotel. Either they found the hotel cold or they judged it to be old and in need of renovating.

Peripheral concerns voiced by a slim percentage of guests mentioned noise from the nearby highway and trucks at night. Occasionally guests thought that the actual room they stayed in mismatched the room that they actually reserved in terms of bed type or floor level.
