OverviewThe Best Western White House Inn is located on the south side of County Road Two and to the west of Sharples Lane in Brockville, Ontario
Facilities at the hotel include free parking, banquet facilities, conference facilities, and meeting space. The pet friendly hotel ($20/day) also has an outdoor pool and a dining area where free continental breakfast is served from 6:30am to 9:30am.
There is no restaurant at the hotel (at time of writing) however a Front Desk Agent we spoke to indicated that the hotel was planning on including one at the property. Our staff inquired as to the date and June 2012 was mentioned (date subject to change).
There are 57 guest rooms at the hotel and they include 40 rooms that are non-smoking. Common room amenities include cable televisions, air conditioning, coffee makers, free local calls (under 30 minutes), and free high speed Internet in all rooms.
Beds at the hotel are either kings, queens, or doubles, and most rooms at the property have fridges and/or microwaves.
Highway 401 is accessible from the hotel at a distance of about 3.8km, the Brockville Mental Health Centre is 1.7km away, and the VIA Rail station is about 4.1km away (driving distances - Google Maps).
Check in time at this hotel is at 3pm while check out time is at 11am.

The GoodGuests that enjoyed their stay at the Best Western White House Inn commended the property from several different perspectives. The service of the staff and the hotel’s room rates were the two areas where compliments were most frequent.
The staff at the hotel were commonly described as “friendly” or even "very friendly." According to multiple reviews, the staff seemed to be willing to work hard to accommodate guests and one patron, for example, said that a staff member went out of his way in fulfilling his customer service duties.
Several guests mentioned that the hotel was “affordable” or “well-priced.” Many of these guests weighed what they received in exchange for the prices that they paid. One guest, for example, said that the hotel was “pretty decent...for the price” and another said the hotel was “excellent for the price.”
There were some peripheral compliments for the hotel as well. For example, some guests mentioned that their rooms and beds were comfortable.
The Bad
Several guests did not fully enjoy their stays at this hotel and there were many complaints that pertained to the following areas: (1) a lack of cleanliness, (2) the room size, and (3) the limited availability of the hotel's pool.
Guests that complained about a lack of cleanliness often described problems in their rooms. One guest called his room “dusty,” another complained about the mold, and another complained about “stains.” Occasionally a guest complained about a “musty” smell at the hotel or bugs in their rooms.
Multiple guests also felt that the hotel rooms were small. One guest, for example, said that his/her room was one of the “smallest” he/she had ever seen.
Guests that complained about the pool at the hotel were perhaps not unhappy with the facility itself. Rather they were upset that it was not available for usage. Multiple guests mentioned that the pool was seasonal and another guest indicated that even when it was in season, the hours of operation were somewhat limited.
Expedia.ca guest ratings averaged to 3.4 points out of 5 and 73% of guests recommended the property. TripAdvisor.com ranked the hotel 5th of 7 properties in Brockville and the site had 33 reviews. Priceline.com guest ratings averaged to 7.9 points out of 10 and the hotel ranked 1st of 6 hotels in Brockville.

"too high price, out of way, no restaurants or eating facilities, not even good vending machine, ate my coins and did not give any item we pressed for. The room was smelly, old carpets( why can't you go for laminate or vinyl floors), bed linens and towels were terrible for the high price, over all bad experience"

"This was an average hotel, basically a place to sleep. The restaurant was closed indefinitely, the continental breakfast was just OK, the pool needed cleaning.
The room was clean, but the smell of room deodorizer was somewhat strong. There was no refrigerator in the room.
The staff was friendly and helpful."

"The phone system at this hotel will not accept a Bell calling card. This presents a problem when trying to make long distance phone calls. As a second problem, because the hotel is located across the river form New York state, any cell phone that is not activated to operate in the US will not operate here because the signal tower for the cellular tower is in the US. Cell phones registered only in Canada will not work here."

"The suite was beautiful, with a fireplace and whirlpool. Only downside was returning from a wedding to have a nice long bath, to find the tub dirty. My boyfriend had to wash it himself so we could use it!"

"The online booking and reservation services, as well as signs posted at the motel indicates a restaurant. I specifcally wanted a hotel that had a dining room, with service for breakfast through to supper. I was very upset to discover upon arrival that the only food available from the motel is a very sad continental breakfast, that consisted of bagged muffins, bread, and tea or coffee. There was not room service as advertised, and certainly no functioning restaurant. The room itself was clean, warm, comfortable and parking was spacious and easy. I was not able to receive the high speed internet, which was advertised again on motel signs, and online. The internet service is strictly wireless, and despite my wireless card, I was never able to connect to the internet while at the motel. I would have to consider carefully staying the weekend at this motel again, given its lack of walking proximity to restaurants, or food services, or provision of a menu or buffet by the motel. There is also only one menu for delivery ordering provided in the room, the cost of two single person meals was over 50.00 in total, I was greatly disappointed in this aspect. The motel also is not near any obvious walking area, or park, there is a unlit, single wide path to the right of the motel, that can be used for walking. The motel did not provide external garbage containers for dog waste. I had to hang my bags on the door handle, and would have appreciated even one outside disposal bin to properly dispose of the dog waste. The drain in the bathtub, did not lift properly, so by the end of my shower, I stood in about 6 inches of water, and had to crouch down on my knees and lift the drain and hold it while the water emptied."

"In my hotel room the heat turned off on its own and never came back on. We called the front desk and complained and were told that after the room dropped down to a certain temperature, the heat would kick back on. It never did. I had to sleep with my coat on."

"Very welcoming and attentive staff members - made you feel "at home". For a stop in Brockville, it is a great value stay. With young kids, we loved the "hotel" concept were you parked at your door to your room. Thanks."

"My only complaint was with the complimentary breakfast on our first morning. We were not told that we needed a reservation for breakfasts, so when we arrived and were told that there were no available seats we were not impressed. We weren't offered any other option until WE suggested it, and finally the "downstairs room" was opened for us and two other parties who were also complaining. Knowing this, we went ahead and made a reservation for the following morning and had no problems. Reservations that FILL the restaurant should not be allowed if they are going to take tables away from paying guests!!!!!"

"Genererally a very nice stay. Only minor aggrevation was restaurant, which I understand is run independently of the hotel. Service on Friday was extremely slow and when speaking to management about this, we were made to believe that somehow it was our fault for not advising the restaurant we were coming. It was our understanding that this was not our job as the Best Western promoted this breakfast as part of their offering. After come conversation plans were made to accommodate us the next morning which ran much smoother."

"Rooms were clean.
