This smoke-free property offers several air-conditioned cottages, each with a separate bedroom (or multiple bedrooms), a kitchenette or full kitchen, cable TV, a DVD player, a fireplace or wood-burning stove and a dining area. Units with a jetted tub and a living room with a sofabed are also available. The hotel is not wheelchair accessible.
Hotel amenities include free Wi-Fi in public areas, a private beach, a seasonal outdoor pool, tennis courts watersports, a gift shop, packed lunches, a business centre, meeting/banquet space, free parking and on-site dining at Muskoka Memories Steakhouse & Seafood Restaurant, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner seasonally (please contact the hotel for details). The hotel's staff were the source of numerous compliments by reviewers, who found them accommodating, attentive, friendly and helpful. One guest noted, "Bill was super friendly and knew how to provide service and special attention to his guests. We asked if they had cards and he had them delivered in minutes. There was always someone there to help".
Several lodgers praised the hotel's restaurant, describing it as delicious, fresh and very good, with excellent service. One patron remarked, "We had an amazing dinner of muskoka salad and prime rib, best quality meat we have had in a long time (and we eat at multiple steak houses throughout the year) and slow cooked to complete perfection". A few guests did mention the restaurant was understaffed, however.

They complained about the hotel's name being "Patterson-Kaye Resort and Spa", when there was no on-site spa available. (As of March 2014, the hotel's website indicates a spa will be opening soon.) Some lodgers also mentioned the hotel's hot tub was also under disrepair and suggested contacting the hotel to see if it was available.
Although several reviewers were pleased with their clean and well-equipped cabins, a few patrons had complaints. They reported dated decor, worn fixtures, "unfinished" looks, limited cooking utensils and no in-room hair dryers.
