Located just off Highway 400, this hotel is popular with guests looking for a stop-over on their way to and from Northern Ontario, as well as guests looking to explore Barrie and its surrounding area.
This 100% smoke-free hotel has 77 rooms, including 11 suites. Rooms offer 1, 2 or 3 queen beds, or 1 king bed. Every room has a hairdryer, a coffeemaker, an iron and ironing board, a TV, a desk, a mini-fridge, a microwave, and free Wi-Fi and wired internet access. The suites also contain a kitchenette with pots, pans and dishes. Some rooms come with a sofabed. There are three king whirlpool suites as well. Adjoining rooms are subject to availability. Pets are not allowed.
This hotel offers a free hot breakfast every morning. There is an indoor pool, a hot tub and a fitness room on site. There is no restaurant on site, but there is an American-style restaurant adjacent to the hotel. A coffee shop, a sports bar and fast-food restaurants are within a 5-minute walk.

Centennial Park/Beach, Georgian College and several local theatres are a 5-minute drive away. Georgian Mall and Park Place (previously Molson Park) are within a 10-minute drive of the hotel. Georgian Downs racing and slots is a 15-minute drive away. Mount St. Louis, a popular skiing and snowboarding destination in the winter, is a 30-minute drive away. Many guests praised the staff for being friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the area.
The location, close to the highway and to downtown Barrie, was complimented by many guests. They found the hotel easily and were close to everything they needed downtown.
Several guests really enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. These guests mentioned that the quality of the food was good and that there was a variety of items to choose from.
Numerous guests also commented on the comfortable rooms, especially the beds.
The Bad
While many of the reviews used for this analysis were positive, some negative comments arose about the pool, noise disturbances, the carpets, and the breakfast area.
Many guests were disappointed with the size of the indoor swimming pool with some saying it was rather small.
Some guests complained about noise in the hallways from large groups at the hotel. However, a few of these guests also said the reception staff did a great job of quieting the groups down once a complaint was made.
There were some complaints regarding the cleanliness of the carpets as some felt they were dirty and could use a thorough cleaning.
A few guests felt that the breakfast area was too small. One complained that the eating area was overcrowded and they had trouble getting into the room.
