The GoodWhile the bulk of reviews used for this analysis were negative, guests did commonly praise the staff. Many reviews noted numerous complaints, but also said that, despite these shortcomings, staff were focused and very good to guests.
Staff members were warm and friendly. Front desk staff were noted as being particularly helpful. Staff went out of their way to make guests feel at home. One guest, who was in town for a hockey tournament, described in detail the extra touches that staff provided that were specific to their tastes, including themed cookies and providing their group with special meeting space in the hotel. Guests also said that staff were responsive in dealing with guest complaints.
A few guests thought the room rate was attractive and that they had received good value.
The Bad
Based on the reviews used for this analysis, many guests encountered problems during their stays at this hotel. Their list of complaints was lengthy and varied, but they complained most commonly about the indoor pool, the beds and the quality and selection of food offered at the continental breakfast.
Guests complained that pool water was very cold, making it unpleasant to swim in. Some guests also thought that the pool was too shallow.
According to a number of guests, beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable. Guests also complained about thin pillows and worn linens that were uncomfortable as well.
Many guests felt that the complimentary continental breakfast lacked variety. They also thought that the amount of food was sparse and of low quality.
A number of guests complained about loud, rattling air conditioning units, and some felt they were so noisy that they interfered with quality of sleep.
Some guests said that the hotel was in an isolated location and warned future guests that there are very few dining establishments within the vicinity. Future guests may want to note that there are several fast food options available nearby on both sides of the nearby Highway 101 (as noted above).
A number of guests indicated that there were problems with door locks and key access.
