The Good
Guests really enjoyed this hotel and many gave it perfect scores. Some saw it as a cute and cozy historic hotel with lots of charm.

The location was excellent. Guests liked being an easy walk from the harbourfront, restaurants, museums, art galleries, Spring Garden Road shopping, the railway, the Public Gardens, the universities and other downtown attractions.

Guests found the rooms comfortable and quiet. They were often described as large, well cleaned and well maintained with comfortable beds and quality bedding. Guests liked their patios and balconies and thought the rooms facing the courtyard were the best.

The restaurant received rave reviews. Guests loved the fine dining experience on site, along with the pretty courtyard. Many wanted to come back just to enjoy the restaurant once again.

The staff were pleasant and informative. One guest said, "Staff were extremely helpful, providing information and also volunteering to arrange our travel back to the airport (without being asked)." The hotel also was considerate of a guest who could not arrive on the intended flight from England and allowed a refund of a pre-paid online booking.

Although the free breakfast seemed a little basic compared to the dinners on site, many still found it satisfying and very good.

Parking was limited and located behind the hotel, and guests who managed to obtain a free spot were pleased.

The Bad
Guests were very positive about their experience at this small inn but some pointed to the inn's areas of weakness.

There is no elevator and some rooms are located on the third storey. This meant climbing a lot of stairs. Guests found the stairways narrow but also mentioned that the staff offered to carry their luggage.

Parking was described as tight and limited. One guest thought that it was best for small cars only.

Although many thought their rooms were quiet, a few could hear sounds from other rooms and doors slamming. Some found their beds or TVs small.
