Guest Recommendations
Janet from Sevenoaks, GB stayed on August 28, 2004

"Our bedroom was very noisy. We were booked for 2 nights and asked for a different room on the second night, having explained why. However, the room we were given was immediately above our first room. Since the noise came from outside (we couldn't identify it but it might have been noise from external air conditioning units - it sounded like engine noise), this second room was only slightly less noisy. This was a pity since otherwise our stay was comfortable and the location ideal for our sight seeing."
John from Toronto, ON CA stayed on May 28, 2004

"The hotel is advertised as a charming, quaint inn of yester-year. It is not. The accomodations were comparable to a much cheaper hotel or even motel. When we acquired about the difference between what is advertised and what we received, we were told "Not all rooms have all amenities." Ours had none. We did not try the restaurant for dinner but the home-made breads at breakfast were excellent."

Overview & Amenities

The Halliburton

Downtown Halifax's historic boutique hotel. The newly renovated Halliburton House Inn features upscale-inn accommodations and maritime hospitality in a trio of heritage townhouses. The Inn's popular dining room Stories offers east-coast seafood and game in four intimate adjoining dining rooms. In the summer months guests may enjoy cocktails and light fare in the garden courtyard. In the autumn and winter a crackling fire invites from the cozy library. Built in 1809 and was home to Sir Brenton Halliburton, the first Chief Justice of the Nova Scotia Supreme Court. More recently, the building housed Dalhousie University's prestigious law school.
