The Good
Almost all reviews examined for this hotel were positive and the property received compliments on many aspects of the guest experience.

The customer service was highly praised by reviewers and was described as "impeccable" and "first class". Many guests commented that the staff throughout the hotel were professional and friendly.

Many guests also enjoyed the proximity of the hotel to Halifax attractions and restaurants. Reviewers found the Link pedway system a convenient way to travel to several downtown destinations. One guest said the hotel was in the "most perfect location" and another reviewer mentioned that he did not need to use his car for the duration of his stay.

Most guests agreed that their rooms were large and comfortable and a couple of guests described their rooms as "luxurious" and "well appointed". Reviewers also found their rooms clean and their beds comfortable.

The on-site dining options were also complimented by guests. Gio's restaurant was praised for food quality and one couple stated that their "meal was the best (they'd) had in the Maritimes." The in-room breakfast (served to Crown Service units) and the breakfast buffet were also complimented.

The Bad
Negative reviews for this hotel were rare as the hotel was quite highly rated. Most guest concerns seemed to be isolated, although there were some hints of possible weak points with the hotel.

A few guests indicated that they were disturbed by street noise that was created by partiers that were exiting nearby bars. Additionally extra fees drew a bit of scorn and, specifically, a couple of reviewers found the parking fees expensive.

Other negative comments mentioned the lack of room-service during the Christmas holidays, limited selection of equipment in the fitness centre, unreliable Internet service, and inconsistent/fluctuating guest room temperatures.

"I had to wait for my room for over 2 hours. We were told twice that it would only be a few more minutes. I was very dissapointed. When we finally got in the room, they sent us a bottle of wine and two pieces of cake to apologize for the wait. The cake was delivered with out forks. No problem, for the staff member said she would return with two forks. Needless to say she did not return with the forks and this added to the poor service. Also of note was the fact that I could not contact the front desk from my room. The phone was not working."
