The GoodThis hotel had mostly positive reviews and the property received a lot of compliments that covered a broad spectrum of hotel features.
Most guests remarked that their rooms were clean and comfortable. Several guests described their rooms as "spotless", while other reviewers commented on the quality of the provided pillows. Other guests found their rooms well appointed and quiet.
Almost all guests who ate at the on-site restaurant were happy with the food they received. One guest said the food was "nothing short of amazing" and a couple reviewers thought the menu was reasonably priced.
The staff at this hotel were also highly praised for both their friendly demeanours and their quick and efficient check-ins. One guest commented that the front desk staff "made (him/her) feel like (he/she) was the most important customer who came through the door", while another guest said that future guests could "expect to be killed with kindness".
Guests were also happy with the hotel's proximity to area restaurants, pubs, shops, and Halifax attractions. Most reviewers also mentioned the convenience of the hotel being part of the pedway system and one guest, for example, said that he/she did "not have to go outdoors for anything".
Many guests said they would definitely return to this property and a couple reviewers thought that the hotel offered good value for the money they spent.
The Bad
Most of the negative reviews were somewhat old and mentioned problems with the Internet that have since been addressed. A few guests had no access or only limited access to the Internet at this property but at time of writing the official hotel website indicated that all rooms had been upgraded with wireless Internet capabilities so perhaps these kinds of complaints will fade in the future.
Aside from the Internet, there were a few reviewers who felt the rooms could use some upgrades. One guest found there to be too few electrical outlets for her devices. Another guest described the bathroom tiles as not up to the standard of the rest of the room and a few guests also mentioned that they were not supplied with enough towels and had to request more from the front desk staff.
A few guests found the parking rates expensive and almost all the other negative reviews described isolated experiences. One guest found the in-room heating ineffective. Another guest described the pool and hot tub area as dated. A couple reviewers found service at the on-site restaurant slow, while a few other guests had difficulty locating the front entrance of this hotel.
