Overview
This hotel, in the heart of Halifax, is part of the indoor Link Pedway system connecting many Halifax attractions, and is well suited for exploring downtown on foot.

All rooms at this hotel are smoke free and include free Wi-Fi, free wired Internet, a 27" flat screen TV with cable and pay-per-view movies, a coffeemaker, a mini-fridge, a desk, an iron and ironing board, a hair dryer and air conditioning. Rooms are furnished with 1 queen bed or 1 king bed. Room extras include bathrobes, turndown service, free local calls and iPod docks. Accessible rooms are available.

Signature Club room guests receive exclusive access to the Club Lounge, which serves a free breakfast, evening appetizers and offers evening turn-down service.

Valet parking is offered for $21.95 per night. Guests who choose to self park, will find parking at Scotia Square which is accessible through the pedway. Pets (2 dogs and cats under 50 lbs) are permitted in select rooms for an additional fee of $35 per room, per 5-day stay. (An additional $35 will apply for stays longer than 5 days.)

The on-site Tempo Food + Drink restaurant is licensed and serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, weekend Brunch and offers a grab-and-go section. Room service is also available. Guests are treated to complimentary morning coffee stations.

Hotel amenities include an indoor pool (with adult-only times), separate men's and women's sauna in the change areas, a fitness centre, a business centre, concierge service, a massage therapy studio, safe deposit boxes, luggage storage, dry cleaning service, and meeting rooms.

Casino Nova Scotia, Scotia Square Mall, the Halifax Convention Centre and the Halifax Metro Centre are all accessible within a 7-minute walk via the pedway. Other downtown attractions, including the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, the Halifax waterfront boardwalk, the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia and the Halifax Citadel Historic Fort are within a 10-minute walk.

The Good
Many guests had enjoyable experiences at this hotel. The staff knew how to make guests feel welcome and at home, and guests often said they wanted to return. Many felt they had received top notch service.

The rooms were clean and comfortable (some had great views) and guests reported enjoying breakfast and meals on site with friendly staff in the restaurant and lounge.

The location received top marks for being perfect for accessing downtown attractions, restaurants, the waterfront, the Scotia Centre and the bus stop. Some guests loved being connected to the pedway system.

Complaints were not all that frequent, but those who had critical comments usually directed them toward the decor.

Some found the hotel a little too tired looking and dated, with older furniture, plus poor ventilation and lighting in the basement meeting rooms.
