The Good
This hotel was very well liked by its guests for providing a pleasant stay.

Guests liked the rooms. They were often described as very clean and spacious, with comfortable beds in a well-maintained facility. Many spoke of pretty views from their rooms and some could see the harbour from higher floors.

Guests liked the location. It was a short walk to neighbourhood restaurants, easy to access public transit, across from a park and a short drive to Dalhousie University, QE2 Health Sciences, downtown, attractions, shopping and the waterfront.

Guests enjoyed meals on site. More than one recent reviewer recommended the seafood chowder and another wrote, “Bar in the hotel has a great lounge with a full menu and a great relaxed, friendly environment."

Guests liked the staff. Guests often reported great treatment by awesome staff members and others called them incredibly accommodating, efficient and friendly.

Adding value were: high-end toiletries, a nice heated pool with deck and hot tub, pool noodles and toys for the kids, well appointed public spaces, a guest laundry that included soap and dryer sheets, and a free shuttle to downtown.

The Bad
Guests who complained were in the minority.

Some were disappointed at the extra parking charge of $20 as they considered the hotel to not be in the more central downtown area. Others found the underground lot to be a little tight.

Some found the walk back from downtown to be challenging and a little far (about 20- 25 minutes), as it was uphill.

The hotel offers a free shuttle to downtown in the morning and early evenings on weekdays. One guest complained that this service was only one-way.

Some felt the hotel was a little dated overall and were disappointed that there was no mini-fridge or microwave in all rooms.

Occasionally guests complained of noise disturbances from other guests, as sound travelled through the doorways.

Some felt the hotel was too expensive, although some felt the hotel offered better value comparatively, in an expensive Halifax market.
